I just got the urge to check my car's status on the OL web site and everything seems to be okay. The VIN# finally showed up and the status has changed to "scheduled for production". I actually wanted to call my MA and ask her to add the satnav but I guess I'll have to go along the after-market route.

Your MA has the most reliable info. They have the status codes and more in depth info than ask mini does

hi all...

just called askmini today... they said they have no changes to report and that my car was scheduled for production for june, even though i was told a couple of days ago about that 5/14 daily production thing... errrr.... what was up with that run around? maybe i should try to call again in a couple of hours...

i just left a msg with my MA for the status code. i hope he can tell me this at least. but my hunch tells me that he might not know about this... and only tell me the same thing that my car will be ready soon... we'll see...

howdyem,
I'm having a little difficulty figuring out my status also. I just called ASK-MINI and all they could tell me this time is that my car is scheduled to start production in week 23. If what my sales manager told me is correct, then ASK-MINI just doesn't have correct information.

thanks for the reassurance rover... sorry to hear about your setback, when you were actually told by AskMini that your car was in actual PRODUCTION. even the Sales Manager said your car was in PRODUCTION too right?

this may sound silly... but what is the difference btwn the Sales Manager and the MA? All this time I'm thinking the MA is the guy who sold me the mini...

Rover... have you heard anything else fr your MA/Sales Mgr just to confirm that your car is still in production? I'm still waiting to hear word fr my MA...

ASK-MINI said my first car was IN PRODUCTION but they never said that about my second one. At my dealership there are a number of MAs and a Sales Manager. Maybe other dealerships are organized differently. I gather that my MA gives the information to the Sales Manager and the Sales Manager actually places the order.

The Sales Manager actually told me that my second car was status 150. I forgot if she said that meant IN PRODUCTION but that's what got from the status code list anyways.

I think it's best to route your communications through your MA but since there was that mixup with my car, the Sales Manager contacted me. I'm going to try to get an update on my status before the end of tomorrow since ASK-MINI is going to close down until Tuesday because of Memorial Day, I suspect.

Another thing... I received an email from miniusa today with my production number. I never received one of those for my first order. If anyone else got one of those emails, how long was that before they received their VIN?

I never received any e-mail from MINI USA. All the information I've gathered is through my MA, the OL, ASK-MINI, NAM & MINI2.

I got one of those emails about a week after ordering and it took about a month after to get my VIN.

Thanks for the explanation of MA vs. Sales Mgr. That's what I thought... for a moment i got confused.

I never got one of those emails for my production number. My MA was the one who gave me my production number.

CURRENT STATUS

It looks like howdyem, ex-pat brit, and rover are the ones left in the thread at this point with week 23 production. Did I miss anyone? Let's hope we all get bumped up to week 22. If that happens, we will almost certainly miss the MAERSK WIND departing on 6/04 but could make the MADAME BUTTERFLY (6/11).

My best guess at this point is that with week 22 production, VDC time, and a few days where the car is just waiting, I could take delivery on or about July 18th. That makes the order to delivery time 11 1/2 weeks.

It can easily be a week longer if the car is built in week 23. I wish I had better news.

Even though my MINI has been bumped up, I'm still a week #23 guy. You can count on me for background support.

I'm also here still waiting for week 23 to roll around. My MA said, however, that things seem to be moving quickly in Oxford and production could start sooner. I'll not hold my breath.

I have good news-ish. My MINI is scheduled for production in week 22, however the automatic gearbox may not show up until week 23!!.
I guess I have a foot in both courts. Watch this space

Wow! Will your car remain on the production line during the weekend of week #22?

No they won't start building "Smudge" until they get the boxes in. It seems the takeup for the auto box was far higher than expected.
P.S read my post on an awesome test drive

Ex-Pat Brit,
Congratulations... I guess. Maybe your news is a sign of hope for me. If they are going to start your car's production before they have all the parts, maybe they can find some room to squeeze my car into week 22 also.

I was looking at schedule again and if instead of using the worst case throughout, I use the best case, with week 22 production, I could see my car by July 1st. To do this, successive miracles would have to occur such as getting early week production and arriving at the dock and getting put on a ship the same or next day. Quick VDC and dealer processing would also be neccessary.

I attached a PDF of the optimistic schedule.

Your car will most definitely be on a different ship. You should get your car at least a week before I get mine.

Count me IN. As of Sat, I was wk 24, as of today, MA said wk 23 and scheduled for production. Happier in wk 23 support group than in wk 24 support--nothing personal....LOL

now i'm upset... i called AskMini and they told me that i got pushed back to week 24!!!

i don't know what's going on. i asked why i was told week 23 in the beginning, then told i might have been bumped up, and now i'm at week 24... but the rep didn't have an answer. he said it could have been due to the packages i ordered and what the mini plant was planning to make that week. i didn't think i ordered anything complicated... he was confident that i am now a week 24. i'm really sad...

I think there must be a major slow down in the factory. My car went into production 5/21 and since then ask mini has said my car was in the body shop with a completion date of 5/28. Well, I called this morning and they said my car just entered the paint shop My car has sat on the production line for over a week. I'm not surprised that several of you have been pushed back considering what has happened to me.

I'm really sorry to hear that, howdyem. I hope they're wrong about that.

Since some of the audio options were to start availability in week 23, I wonder if we've been caught in some assembly line modifications. I've been trying to hold off bugging my MA but I think I'm going to try to get some information before this evening.
