Which way to the dock and hurry???...

completed today. Hope I make the ship for 6/9 or 6/12...

 

My car has now "arrived at port of exit" OL still shows "scheduled for production" and WW shows no record of my VIN.

I guess I'm joining Mgibrace and gforce23 unless either of you have found out that your cars actually did make it onto a ship.

 

If it's on a ship, I don't know about it. Noticed when I put the vin into auto tracking, that the vin has a little apostophe at the end. I think the original tracking thread states that this means I'm waiting for the next available ship, but who knows?

It'll get here when it does......

 

I was told mine will be in production this week. Order tracking shows mine at scheduled for production. I placed my order on March 23rd I think. It has been over two months already and I will have to wait until mid July. I am very patiently waiting....

 

that seem like a long time. Are they still obligated to allocation slots per dealer. My car went into production less than 10 days from order placement.

Did I just luck out????

Do you mean that the WW page that says there's no record of your VIN puts an apostrophe on the end of VIN?

 

Yep, that seems to be what happens. Have you tried? It's not noticeable if I use caps for the vin, but if lower case is used, there's just enough space for the ' to appear.

 

hmmm.......... just reentered @ WW and the ' didn't show up and still no tracking info from them.

 

Well Ask-MINI finally had a new status for my wifes this morning. It now says that it is in Production with a completion date of 6/9, which is 1 day earlier than we were given yesterday.

Just so very strange how this tracking consumes our lives.

I finally get the chance to snicker and laugh at my wife with all the tracking stuff. She thought I was nuts when I did all of this 2 years ago when I ordered mine, and now she is going through the same exact thing. Calling every several hours, checking the Owner's Lounge, etc..

 

Sitting on the dock of....well the mini plant in Oxford actually. My MA said I haven't been allocated a ship yet. Hopefully the INTEGRITY on the 9th.Hope to see you there emtrey

Since there's no Week 24, I'll jump in.... Ordered 5/26 and as of last night, ASK MINI says completion date of June 11. Guess that means paint shop over the weekend, as it should be in body work today, right?

Not sure where it will ship to for TX delivery, and can't seem to get ship info off WW site.

My MA is on vacation this week, so I guess she'll just have the good news of completion for me on Monday.

completion date of June 11 would mean your in week 23.

 

For those of us with cars at the dock and wondering what that dock might be like, here are a few photos.

Ah, brings back memories. Used to work in Southampton every day. Hope they've improved the quality of the workers. The way they used to drive those cars.........

 

Sounds like you and my wife have the same MA at Moritz in Arlington.

If your MINI is coming to TX, then it will be arriving in the US at the Charleston, SC port, spend a day or 2 or 3 at the VPC and then will be put on a truck and delivered to the dealer.

If your's finishes on the 11th, then there is a good chance that your's and my wifes will most likely be on the same ship. We'll miss the one that departs on 6/9, but should get on the one that sets sail on 6/16, arriving into Charleson, SC on 6/30. With any luck at all, they should be ready to delivery and pickup the weekend after the 4th.

 

There has to be a better way to transport the cars than this. It just takes too long to get to the west coast.

 

The OL seems to have its act together. It shows awaiting transport!!

 

OL shows "awaiting transport" for my car also. Now I keep checking the WW site for my VIN. I guess it was some kind of fluke that my original car was booked on a ship 20 days before departure. It's just 5 days to departure for the next ship and WW site says there's no record of the VIN for my current car.

I am Sittin on the Dock of the Bay a/o this AM. Hope that means the 6/9 or 6/12 sailings. If so, I must admit this was awfully quick considering I placed my order 5/23/07.
