Broken Latch on 09 Clubman (Barn) Door

Any similar experiences out there? Latch on left door just got harder and harder to shut and now the latch has failed. It's the latch on the bottom. I'll make the call to service tomorrow.

Also, any service bulletins outstanding on stuff that I should mention?

2008 latch

The left barn door latch just went kaput on my 2008 Clubman. The door wont engage the latch when closing... seems like a spring or busted cam. I used a couple of zip ties around the handles to keep the doors closed. The right door latches to the left one OK.

I'll order one from ECS and try to replace it myself.

I purchases the part from Mini and installed it in about 15 minutes it was very easy and I'm no mechanic.

Yea mine has broken twice. It is a relatively inexpensive part but if you dont have time or incling to do it your self, be prepared to pay a nice 1-2hour rate of labor.

OK having the same issue...maybe. My right side barn door just makes a whirring sound when I try to use the latch to open the door. I have replaced the left side latch in the past as it would not stay closed. For this right side issue, is it the inside latch or some sort of actuating mechanism or are they one in the same? Thanks in advance.

Check out this thread.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...arn-doors.html

The one in the right door makes a little noise when you grab the right side handle and then it opens. Try to press then pull on the door when you grab the handle to open it. You might have a stuck / bad lock on the right door which mounts to the inside jam towards the center of the doors. Right rear door has the lock ( #1 on the linked thread) , and left door on the jam has the sticker ( #5 n the linked thread ) for the right door.

Thanks and hope that helps.

No I have tried all that. Tried opening it with the remote. Locking and unlocking. nothing works. Push, pull, pray. The handle just whirs for a few seconds then stops. Door still closed. Ugh..I wanna get it fixed next week but since I cant get inside the door not totally sure what is wrong
