Clubman Window issue?

I have noticed that my window jumps down a little when the door is opened but occasionally won't jump back up when closed. I haven't noticed a pattern yet but I have found my window down about a half inch a few times a week.
Can anyone give advise on this?

Call the dealership and get an appointment asap - this clearly isn't right.

OK, happened to me. To reset auto down your window. Then auto up and hold 15 seconds. It should reset it just fine! Only hitch with mine now is that the auto up isn't working, I have to manually hold it (no biggie). The dealer is looking into next week.

The very same thing is happening with my window-taking it in today to dealership, but I will try the auto down and up tactic as well-thanks for the info!

Fixed

I did the reset as laurendesigns suggested and now it seems to work correctly every time I use it.
Thanks laurendesigns !

dkamp,
I have had my car one day and the windows jump down but then goes back into place when I shut the door both sides. Is that normal? If so why does it do that??

Yes, this is normal. The windows go down just a bit when you open the door so that when you close the door the top of the glass doesn't hit the door frame. This is common in cars whose doors don't have a top frame above the window.

My Audi did this too. Sometimes, they wouldn't go back up until I would turn the car off, and turn it back on. These kind of features sometimes develop "gremlins" in the programming. I have seen the feature on Z's and a few other cars. It allows the windows without frames to develop a better seal with the rubber gasket and keep wind and water out.

Window Fix

LaurenDesigns

Thanks so much for your suggestion! I have had my new Clubman for about 2 weeks and had this same issue. I tried your recommendation and it worked. Thanks for saving me a trip to the dealer!

does this mean that the clubman has an auto up and auto down? i was under the assumption that it was only an auto down and you had to hold the toggle to make it go all the way up...?

Dang! I had this same problem and did what you said, hold the up position for 15 seconds, and bam! It works fine now! Mine was dropping down to the half point as well! You are a genius! Now go out there and educate those dealers!

Spoke too soon...guess I will be taking it in on the 23rd to have the windows indexed. No longer working. The manual states that by holding that window switch in the up position, it disables the "Pinch Option", whereby if your window is going up and meets with force,it stops. It did work for a day though!

Kinda right. It's a BMW/German thing...the cars are tight so it allows the doors to be closed more easily. They've done it for at least 10 years.
