R50/53 Any '02 owners out there???
I wish. I have 15 or more years of working before I can even begin to consider the BFree part. btw, that's one of the meanings behind the plate.
If you hang in FL long, perhaps I'll pass you on the X-way. I drive to Orlando for Christmas. 15-1/2 hours straight and I'm still sorry the motoring is over when I get there.

In any case, I have seen no reason to trade in my MINI for a newer model. Plus, I prefer the Supercharger to the Turbocharger anyway...
Rock On, Brother!!!
Got mine in 2002 - it came over in the second batch from England. 130,000 km. Now on the third transmission, fourth windscreen, and second oil pan. All but the last windscreen replacement under warranty. Dang rocks.
It's been great once the dealer "de-bugged" it. Plan to keep driving it 'till it rusts away.

Picked up my 02 MCS in liquid yellow from a private sale in Jan of this year. Low on options and mileage (currently at about 35k miles). I had totalled my '90 325is in the snow and needed a fast replacement and the price was right.
So far the car has been great. There is the odd issue such as stumbling that makes me wonder if the software has ever been upgraded...

I'm relieved to hear that someone else has the same issue and that it is not a sign of MINI abuse. My brother says it is probably the clockspring for the airbag, but I have no idea how much it will cost to repair.
Motor on!
Build date - 06/2002. He was the wife's car, brought him home from the dealer in Sept 2002. Now he's got 87,700 miles on. Going strong, power steering pump died last week, did the suspension and stuff listed in my sig in the last 2 months. Car is even more fun now and since the wife no longer drives it (she's got the family wagon now) - I took off the run flats - made it even better.

06/02 build date, PS/PS MCS purchased new. I was at the dealer the first day they opened. Only have 12,900 miles on Fizzgig. Lots of mods and more awaiting install on the shelves in the garage. Most enjoyable car I've ever owned. Actually exceeds my expectations. Plan on keeping Fizzgig forever - keeping all stock parts. Love it!
I also have a 06/02 build Dark Silver MCS. Very fun car and due to it being a first year model, I got it for a pretty good deal. I enjoy driving it everyday and on the track. The odo just kicked past the 100,000kms mark the other day.
