Just Bad Luck

Well i was painting my dash for the past couple of days. I had everything laid on in my garage. I just had finished at 3am. Well the next moring i woke up and to my surprise my dog had gotten into my garage and had snacked on my dash and trim pieces. Bad luck, but totally my fault I should have known better than to leave it down where the dog could reach it. I swear he was in the house though the whole time Anyways I have a question does anyone know where i can get a new dash (for my 2002) and a new set of downtubes as well? Thanks in advance.

How about a "bone yard"???

Sorry, couldn't help myself...

Seriously, check a local junk/salvage yard. The parts will probably be cheaper than than ordering new. I don't know if there were any significant changes between '02 and newer. If not, your chance of finding something used increases significantly...

Good luck!

I will most likely be replacing 90% dash and trim of my interior going from Anthracite to CF, if the price is right I may be willing to sell the pieces that come out, if not I will be hanging onto them to restore the car back to stock later if ever needed.

I believe Classic MINI will give you a good deal on OEM stuff. Just tell them you are a member of NAM. Good luck!

My dog eats plastic, too. That AND a chewing disorder are not a happy combination.

Remember, the dash changed as of 05 to fewer pieces - I don't know if the newer dash can be put on the older cars or not but I'd be certain before buying anything. (I imagine the airbags might be different as well..)

Good luck!

PS: Keep an eye on the pooch; you may want to take your dog to the vet if he ate a bunch of plastic?

I have been watching him.. He is fine he didnt eat the plastic. Just tore it up. I called the paint company. They said he will be fine, just to make sure he gets plenty of water. I cant say the same for my interior, it was DOA haha
