brake light

The brake light on the passengers side of my 11 Clubman was not operating - got the dead bulb icon. I bought a new bulb and installed it and no luck. While removing the bulb socket from the housing I noticed that the plastic around the socket was slightly distorted - like it melted ever so slightly - the socket was also harder to remove and reinstall than the other sockets. I tried adjusting the contacts but no luck. Any ideas - anyone with similar experience

I would get a new socket holder. BMW mini warnings are based on increased resistance so any thing shy of normal will tend to set a light. Btw check the other side you may have a bulb on the way out. Take them out and hold them up to the light. If they are shaded in a little bit of black then get new bulb.

Usually it's best to replace bulbs in pairs, as stated above, as they typically go out pretty close together. Yes, it may be best to replace the socket and see if that resolves the issue. Determine what socket is needed, 63212756177 or 63212756176.
