I sure hope not. I, too, am 6'3 and fit just fine in my MC, and most of my height is in my legs. I don't even have the seat ALL THE WAY back. Of course only a legless person or a midget could sit behind me.

Saw an indie blue MC yesterday from NC with MINI-OBX tags

Probably not!

Have you sat in one yet? I'm 6' and if I put the driver seat ALL the way back it isn't possible for me to push the clutch in all the way. Meaning, there is a LOT of room.

My advice is that you need to drive one and adjust it a lot to find the optimal driving position.

No way you are too tall. I am about 6'4" tall and love the car. Takes some adjustment, but I find it more comfortable and roomy than my E36 BMW.

As wags said, there is not going to be anyone in the backseat, but I bought the car for me and one passenger tops.

Believe it or not, my brother can drive the car. He is almost 6'8" and about 260 lbs. Granted he couldn't use it as a daily driver, but he likes to drive it for short periods.

My advice is to take a couple of test drives. Spend a lot of time moving and playing with the seats to make sure that you can get comfortable, but I am proof that it is possible.

OBXMini,

Manners first......Welcome to MCO!

The MINI was designed for a maximum 6' 7" driver. So you should have no trouble. The car has plenty of head room, interior width, and the seats adjust up and down in addition to fore and aft. Only downside is that with a taller driver or front passenger, there is little or no space left between the back of their seat and the front of the rear seat cushion.

Cheers,

James

I'm 6'2" and the seat isn't all the way back. I could move up a bit and still be comfortable. However, forget about a passenger behind you unless they are without legs, or or you enjoy sitting with your knees on the steering wheel. The best way test is to sit in the car, mess with all of the seat adjustments, steering wheel settings and take it for a spin. Good Luck. It's not a Mercedes, but the car more than makes up for it in the way it handles the road. Comfort was secondary in my choice to purchase.

His, Chile Red all over / Hers, EB UJ on top.

Definitely not! My husband is 6'4" and fits perfectly and comfortably in my S. Go for a test drive and you'll see.

I'm 6'2" and my seat isn't all the way back. I also have way more than an inch of headroom.

OBX,
The Sport Seats are a must!! Good choice. And the multi-function wheel is great. No sunroof? I love mine.

Welcome to the MCO! And no, you're not too tall to enjoy one. While I'm a mere 5'7" tall, my coworker and I just got back from a very fun lunch run. He's 6'7" and fit without a problem!

I have sport seats, which Bryan moved to the furthest back position and adjusted the height down to the bottom. He had another inch of headroom. And I have the sunroof too.

Could your brother drive anything besides a H2 (bling bling) as a daily driver?

I AM 6'7"! That's how I knew MINI was made for ME!

I don't fit in most cars--Yes, it stinks! Even the ones I classify as "fitting," my head brushed the roof. The MINI gives me 2-3" of head room! It's amazingly large and the best fitting car I've ridden in! I thought that only old brittish sci-fi allowed for the inside to be larger than the outside.

I had a guy follow me out of best buy here and watch me walk into best buy. He suspiciously waited until I came back out ten minutes later, hop in and fire her up. Then he came over, giving me the old hand crank gesture to roll down my window. "I just wanted to see if you fit in that!" he states. We continued to talk about the classic minis and the usual MINI questions. It was a riot!

Funnier yet, my wife is 5'0" and fits perfectly as well. MINI really did their ergonomics studies! Bravo MINI.

I'm 6'-4". Luv mine.
Only car I've ever owned where IDO NOT have to push the drivers seat as far back as it could go. If I was to, my feet wouldn't reach the pedals!

I'm 6'4". I would not go with the sunroof. It takes a bit of headroom away. I have test-driven with and without sunroofs. For me, the visibility is better without the sunroof.

Great friend of mine (hey Felipe!) down in Texas is 6'8" and his MCS is his everyday driver. He bought the car in Buffalo NY and drove it back to Austin in two days, probably one of the fastest break-in periods ever...

Right now he is driving a late 90's Camry. Just has the seat back and almost reclined onto the back seat.

Unfortunately, he is probably going to have to get an SUV for work in a year or two.
