ok hopefully this is the last of this...
this is the deal, i currently have a 2002 indi blue/black top cooper with cvt premium and sport. after being very unhappy with the cvt and the black roof i decided i wanted to trade it in and get a new one..
so at habberstad they have 2003 indi blue/ white top, premium and sport and chrome bumpers, in stock, on the lot.
the appraiser says they can only give me $15,500 for the car.. but with that they will pay tax, so basically they will give me $16,817. the new cooper is originally $19,995 but they said they'd give me $500 off.
so i would only have to pay a difference of $2,678 and no tax.
i feel like this is an OK deal, but i kinda feel like i could get more.. what do you all think?

I agree with the fact that the cvt sucks. If I was you I would go with the indy blue, and whit but with the supercharger. My purpose for my MCS is to just have fun and in the test drive of the MC I just wasnt pleased. There is quite a difference in the power of both of the cars, and its nice.

From what your saying I don't think it sounds too bad. But how many miles on the 2002, it looks like there car MSRP is about 1200 less than what yours was. So it is costing you $3878. Maybe you should try and sell yours out right, then try and bargain them down below MSRP, Or maybe not. I guess thats the way I see the numbers maybe someone else can add it up better??

Good Luck

my 2002 had almost 7000 miles. well that $1200 is already gone, cause i paid for the car in full. so there really isnt much i can do about that now.. the thing that i like about trading it in is that i dont have to pay tax... tax is a real killer... and ive been having a hard time trying to find someone who wants a cooper with cvt!

I hear you saying you can go from being a "OK happy" MINI owner to a "I CAN'T STOP SMILING" MINI owner and it will only cost you $2600.

DO IT !!!

MOTOR ON !!!

i guess it comes down to this- if you are truly unhappy with ur mini because another has caught your eye, then is it worth $2,000 to you to have the car you want? If it means skipping a few nights out and a ski weekend, I'd say go for it! but check with other dealers in the area first- also, have you tried selling the mini privately? What ur unhappy with may be another person's dream car--- and if found a private seller with my exact mini in hand i would easily pay for it rather than going through a dealer... be informed and stuff , but do what you need to be happy! lots of luck,c
