MiniSail: Feel bad about the financing.

Looks like I will not be able to pick mine up Friday due to job issues.

Think the dealer will be ticked off when I push it to Monday? I know I am!

Red

As ASKMINI have decided not to track progress after the shipment of the cars, how does one find out the status - the dealer?

Also, approximately how long is the period from unloading to arrival at the dealership? THKS

Rat, just like the Mafia, you're in it for life, mwuaaahh ha ha!

---> Gr8brit, you now need to contact you M.A. to get status info about your MINI. He'll know if it's at the VPC or on the truck to the dealership.

There are many people picking up their MINI today or tomorrow! here goes:
Asodestrom
James4513
MiniSail
Moggio
Red
Scoobs
(anyone else?!)
Best of luck, and safe Motoring,
Ryan

P.S. CONGRATS PJ!!!

Friday looks like a great day the April Club.

I need to check with my dealer and make sure they accept a cashiers check.

Charge the camera batteries.

This last days wait is the worst.

Great pics from all of you graduates, and great write-ups too. I think I am going to do a comparison between the Mini and the replaced vehicle.

My wife bought me a red shirt with vetical black stripes. I don't know if I can bring myself to dressing to match a car.

Andy

Today is going way to slow. I think I will have to race home in Tina and take the girly car out for a bit to hold me over until tomorrow. The Sun is Shining and I think it is even getting warm

Update: Through no fault of my dealer, I am now picking up Waldo on Monday, 4/14 instead of this Friday due to business travel hassels.

Sometimes a job really gets in the way of fun. But Monday, I am playing hooky )I earned it!) and play MINI!

Regards,
Red

score! while waiting to get my hair cut a lil while ago, i was browsing through an auto mag (weekly, i think) and ganked the manual of motoring! this will definitely go in the glove so my passengers can read it. maybe next time i get my hair cut i can find the barf bag.

NOTE: a MINI's horn is not a musical plaything, and should be sounded only when absolutely necessary in traffic situations, i.e. grEEting fellow motors.

ryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyAN

Ooops... that's a little big... sorry everyone.

After having the Bullet for a couple of days, and finally being able to open the sunroof... I just can't get enough! And the H/K... sweeeeeet!

I didn't get my rubber front mats as I specified, but an e-mail to my MA took care of the problem. All I need to do is go in a pick them up... He's giving me the carpet ones that were mistakenly put in my vehicle. Excellent!

OK Ryle, you asked for it, you get it:
OWLA entry #1; actually, I SHOULD be in the March Club, since I took delivery of my VR/W MC on 3/29 [my birthday's 3/28 Drove to friend's house to show car. his reaction: "I never liked you".

Doesn't handle great - handles Incredibly Great. Have to get used to that. Haven't made any long trips lately, but it's been raining and snowing and raining here in NYC almost non-stop. Will post photos when I get an actual sunny day to take them. Stay tuned for further updates.

So I haven't had many head turns with Poly yet :???: . Then today we went for her state inspection , and it was so funny! All these Brooklyn meat-head guys in the garage were all so excited about the car. The older ones kept telling me how similar it was to the old mini's, and the young guys kept complimenting me on it, telling me how nice the color was, and saying that there really was a lot of room inside. One of them came up to me and asked, "Yo, uhh, you mind if I uhh, get a look atcha enigine?" I popped the hood for him, and he called over another guy, and they just stood there staring at it for like 5 minutes. They said it looked like a neon's engine?! HEHEHE, Polythene and I were gigling the whole way home.

I just called the first sign shop in the yellow pages to get prices on bonnet stripes. As soon as I said "Cooper" the guy went nuts! He said he would be SO excited to put stripes on a mini! What was also funny is that he said he didn't even know what to charge for it! He's supposed to call back tomorrow with a number. But he's almost as excited as me about my getting the Cooper. He congratulated me instead of saying goodbye! How great is that!?!?

It looks like the Jingu Maru has already docked and left the port of New York!

Now get that Mini down to Towson, pronto!

Ok guys, you asked for it! Here's your action shot:
Me and my Polythene(as seen from a giangantic bird in the sky, bored of pooping on cars all day, and wondering as he peers though an outrageously long and stylish sunroof, 'd*mn, who dat hottie!')

hehe, I just totally couldn't take myself seriously when posing for a picture for the internet!

OK, I'm confused...(what else is new?????) The Jingu Maru now shows a double arrival and departure for NY..I vaguely seem to recall postings abouit this when the Carmen last came in, but actually GETTING my car seemed so far off then that I didn't pay attention. Did anyonbe ever find out why the WW site lists NY twice.

C'mon Jingu getcher stern to SC, I WANT MY MINI !!!

chef

PS...Katie you and that car were MADE for each other! And you seem to have tackled the shifting and insurance issues without yanking out too much hair

Anybody have a reasobale guesstimate about travel time NYC to Chicago area? Just in case my booking number on the Carmen is more correct than the word "removed". I think I am still on the fence but some of people in the May Club have bookings on the Jingu and the Next Carmen. You people who are already graduating are making me nuts...but please keep posting your pics they are great!!!!

Well It's been a week with my beloved Little Red and its been great. I went to Baltimore for a confrence and the drive up gave me a real good feel for the long trip. I am glad I didn't get the SP and keeped the 15" wheels insted of geting the 16" runflats. The ride was very good and not as harsh as I would have thought. Only thing that I found myself doing was trying to put her into 6th gear of which there is none. The revs were alittle higher then I would have expected in the 70 to 80 range (around 35 to 3800 RPM) where my other car did that at 2000. Oh well still got around 34 MPG, not too bad.

The first thing I did was tie the rear fog light to the break light.Boy dose that make a differnce. If you want to know how to do it here is the link. http://www.bridger.us/mini/howto/brakelight_mod.pdf

I have had nothing but problems with the break dust. And on white wheels it stands out pretty well. I did however find a product that cuts the break dust and washes off with little to no scrubing. Eagle One A to Z wheel cleaner is the ticket. spray it on and wash it off. Thats all there is to it . No fuss, no mess.

I have almost 1000 miles on little red and have only had her a week. so I'm planing to change the oil this week end and will let you'll know how much a pain in the A** that is.

Uh Oh. At the risk of sounding like a complete pig, your car is cute and so are you! Great shot!

It's really cool "knowing" people for months, and then getting to see them!

I'd be sure to check out other ways for the brake light mod.. the paperclip is nothing but sketchy. I simply used a wire splicer, and snapped one on, attaching wires #1 to one side and #4 to the other side, creating a full circuit between the two. I also just pulled the harness out from the brakes, without having to wiggle out the entire brake light. The brake light is nice.. people's faces behind you light up extra red.. a good way to get back at their lights shining in YOUR face! take THAT mr SUV!

Unless that's a typo, why are you changing your oil after just 1,000.. first oil change is at 10,000
