hmmm... according to the information on the shipping site, my MINI has been discharded at NYC (4/4 19:20). i'm assuming that means that my car is off the boat and is going through whatever process is involved in immigration  and subsequently loading her on a truck to St Louis?????

meanwhile, ol.miniusa.com has updated my info with an EDD of 4/11... which would be this Friday!!! please god, let it be true.

on another note, someone (don't remember) was asking a few posts back about any info other members could provide regarding BMW/MINI financing, or any rates you've been able to get for a loan for your car. any info would be most helpful, as i've procrastinated long enough, and may only have a week to figure this out now.

thanks...

The Tosca has departed SC which means only one thing for those of us with babies aboard! The babies have landed. Now how long before they reach the dealership????????

I'm going thru BMW Financial Services, with a rate of 5.9% for 60 months, which I think is good enough.

I talked to my M.A. today, my MINI, which now has a name; Mr. Motor, arrived this morning at the dealership, and was promptly stuffed into the locked and secured storage garage )

Cheers,
Ryan

Am I just sad... or what....

I have a shortcut on my desktop to the shipping site.

I know my VIN number by heart....

::Now taking donations for a life::

I know I asked for it....

no need to play down the excitement Paul, I know almost everyone's VIN by heart! I was thinking "LETSMTR" or "TD66772", but they seemed to pretentious for me. I wanted something a bit mysterious, yet singular in literal interpretation. That's why they're personal-plates, right?!

Cheers,
Ryan

Sockdaddy,

You might want to try and bring a pre-approved loan from somewhere else with you if possible. I had a loan from my credit union in hand (4.75% for 72 months) and my MA was able to get MINI financing to beat the rate (4.5%) for the same term. It seems that they will negotiate on the rate in order to get the business, but only if you have another offer already.

Pamato,

I wouldn't worry about it, you're not a freak you've just been assimilated...you're one of us now!
I have developed an obsession with the WW site even though it tells me nothing new, I think it just keeps me reassured that my baby is out there and IS getting closer. Until shadowfax is here I can only motor vicariously through our graduates. I did notice today that the Jingu Maru's arrival date has been pushed back a day (NY on 4/10 but still 4/12 for SC). I hope shadowfax and Motor'NMax haven't been distracting the captain and crew from driving the boat!

I had a close encounter today with a CR/B. Same colors as mine only it was an MC not an S and it had bonnet stripes. Being the true obsessive that I have become I found it necessary to make a u-turn and go the opposite direction from where I was headed to catch up with the guy at a light, compliment him on his car and let hin know mine was coming in a few weeks...he seemed less excited than me about the BIG news, but did seem to be enjoying his car

Hope all are well...

chef

Yea, I know...

I keep having these flashbacks to psychology class... Pavlovian experiments with birds pecking away at a target for a treat... then once the treats stop, they continue pecking even more frantically even thought nothing comes out....

Kind of like the net is a weird kind of way....

This other thing about psychology class.... FEMALE psych majors where hot!
But that's another thread....

>> Sockdaddy,

I got 60 months 4.9% via BMW/MINI financing (Suntrust) at the dealership - no money down except for the $1k deposit. My credit is a little shakey due to a divorce a few years ago. I was worried about getting a loan but my credit union preapproved me for the same rate. I went with the dealership because they cut me a break on installation of the driving lights, mud flaps, luggage rack, and alarm.
(I think). Still had to pay for their $599 floor mats and detailing package though.

so, what are you trying to say, Ryan.....

so i got my parts from that classicmini dude.. MINI valve caps, MINI sunshade, boot cargo mat, and euro-shelf

MINI sunshade seems kinda crappily made. I was thinking it'd be like those silver ones that fold up in circles.. but it's thick cardboard that folds up lengthwise, and just seems kinda cheapy. it's sorta big, so i'm guessing if i don't stick it in the boot, i'll put in in the one inch of leg room behind me, standing up. BUT, it does have a good sized MINI-logo in the center.

The euroshelf was literally a snap to put in, about 5 mins. it's kinda way outta the way to use a lot... kinda have to lean way foward (at least i do with my seat far back) to reach it. i don't have anyparticular reason for it now, but i'm sure i'll find myself in the situation where i would be wanting one. it looks pretty nice down there, as it gives it more of a european-classic look. I can always switch them back out if i need to. perhaps i'll post pics tomorrow...

i LOVE ice cream!

I would love it if you posted a pic of your Euro-shelf; I've been thinking about getting it, and will probley decide later this week.

Cheers,

I just don't get how MiniClo got Wanda so fast and my dealer is only like 25 miles away. I'm still at VPC and we were on the same boat!? Oh well, the black on black looks awesome!

I think if I got a personalized plate, it'd say "INIMINI" which is just soooo cute. But I'm haveing a really hard time getting Poly registered right now, so at least for a little while, I'm just gonna take whatever plate I can get.

The Bullet has landed... in my driveway!!!!!! Went in and picked her up last night, and drove her home in the slop... *sigh* No matter, in a couple of days she'll be basking in warmer weather. I'm sitting at my desk right now, peering out at my car, and all I have to say... I LOVE IT!!!!!

Page 82 has made me chuckle a few times already this morning. Hee hee....I can't stop checking in with the club here. People at work think...I mean know I'm mini-obsessed now. And not just mini-obsessed but MCO-obsessed

By the way, I saw the gold mini in person at my dealership this weekend! I think it looks pretty sharp at first glance, but the longer you look at it, it does look a little like a pimp-mobile.

Have a good one!!!

La la la, no one knows where my car is, la la la.

Apparently I am not at the VPC, but I am also not at the docks, nor on a truck. I'm considering renaming Daniel to Figment, as it appears he is a figment of my imagination.

The only thing that anyone can tell me, is that my DSC wasn't installed.

This is not a good week so far.

I can't seem to keep the grin off my face. I picked up my Mini last night. The dealership was hopping (they delivered 8 minis last night). Mini of Sterling did a great job. I haven't been able to get a picture. The weather in DC has been terrible (high 30's and rain). This is supposed to be the weather for the next 2 days. Until I can give you a picture of my mini, here is a link to an identical mini (wheels, color, etc).

It is crater lake. I thought it would be better than a picture of my identical mini taken in the rain. Sorry for the large size.

Hey Ryan...here's my update.
The car was picked up today in Indianapolis by an enclosed truck. My MA said CeCe was in good company as she was drooling over the other cars in the truck. She said there was a Diablo, a Porche, and a SL 500. The trucker has one stop in Missouri to pick up yet another Diablo, and then it is off to CA. Hopefully CeCe is enjoying the ride!!! I sure would be!

Yipeee! Back in the saddle

Just talked to the dealership and they said Delores is their and I can pick her up Thursday!

I think the wait between the Carmen landing and now has been the worst part of this experience.
