Can't Wait For May

Thought I would start the May arrival thread. I've been a member of NAM since July 2002. Finally made the plunge!

Just received my April production number. Sometime in May I should be the proud owner of a:

BRG/B MCS
Bonnet Stripes
LSD
MFSW
Xenons & Fog Lights
Space Cloth Interior
R84 X-lites w/All weather run flats

So now I Can't Wait For May!

I'll check on Monday 3-21-05. My dealer asked me to call her then; she said right after the car is released for shipment, it takes about a week's time to get the info in the "system."

MFSW = Multi function steering wheel.

I am May as well, ordered in December. Even though I planned it that way, it's still a long time.

So far "on Order" in the OL. My MA said production is week 14.

MCS
JB/W checkered roof and mirrors.
White bonnet strips and wheels
usual stuff

Scheduled for Production!

WooHoo!

Just checked MINIUSA and my MINI has been moved from on order to scheduled for production.

That Owner's Lounge is a great thing, although I'm sure I'll be cursing it as the wait continues

Did you try 1 866 ASK-MINI?

It's an automated system and a little more up to date than the OL. It's will give you your completion date.

Mine's March 31st. Maybe we'll be sailing together!

I'm also expecting a May delivery.

My MA said scheduled for first or second week of April to begin. I've been waiting for 2 weeks in "On Order" status in the Owners Lounge. Would love to see that change SOON...

Ordered a Hot Orange Cabrio with color matched interior and black top.
Leather/ Cloth seats in Dark Blue and Orange
MFSW
Cold Weather Package
-- Heated seats
-- Heated mirrors
-- Heated washers
Sport Package
-- DSC
-- Sport Seats
-- Front Fog Lamps
-- 16" 5-spoke Run Flats
On-Board Computer

Just called the 800 number. I'm scheduled for production for week 14 (April 4th week)

I'm a May delivery too!

I'm working with Julie at Classic. We have set up a delivery date of the end of May, to coincide with a trip back east that I have scheduled. That means that my first drive home from the dealer will be about 2300 miles!

Whoo-hoo!

Lance

2005 MCS JB/B Premium, Col Weather, Convenience, Anthracite Headliner and interior, Parcel Shelf, Aux input, JCW Intake, and a big freakin' smile!!!

In the Paint Shop!

ASK MINI has changed my status from awaiting production to: "your vehicle is in the paint shop"!

Production is still supposed to be done by April 3

Just so you know.

Mine was "In the paint shop" for a week. I think that's the only song they know. Then all of a sudden (March 31) is was done.

Loaded and sailed on the Resolve the next day. As they say, "wooohooo".

After yours is complete, enter your VIN number here.

Congrats.

My status still says scheduled for production, but I was told it went into production on the 30th. Hoping that everything works out for the end of this month or early May...

"That means that my first drive home from the dealer will be about 2300 miles!"

I am in a similar situation... I have a question about the break in period w/ my 800 mile drive home from the dealer that I bought mine at. Break in instructions indicate that you should vary your speed; hard to do when you are trying to get home and travel on a freeway for most of the miles. Any ideas or thought on this???

Break in on Interstate

The last new engine I had to break in I shifted down to third and fourth gear, slowed down so I wasn't above rpm limit and then worked my way back up to the speed limit. Not as easy as using the cruise control, but at least you will vary you rpms and speed.

ASK MINI says my car is being transported to the port of exit. How do you fiqure out which boat you will be on? Do they tell you on 866 ASK MINI?

I did the same thing with mine. I just would drop it to 4th and get the rpms back up, then to 5th for a while, then back to 4th. Just to make the rpms change a little bit. Getting off at a few exits and then back on would be a good idea too (though we didn't do that). My car runs great after 20000 miles and we didn't vary our speed that much for the first 750 miles.

Awaiting Transport

ASK MINI says my MCS is on the dock in Southampton

Checked the WW site but hasn't been assigned to a vessel yet. My MINI is headed for Kansas City, MO. I would assume they would be shipping it into Charleston, SC- ships leave 4/7/05 and 4/15/05-Doesn't look like I'm going to make it on the one leaving today .

Might have to change to "Can't wait for April"!

The sales manager from Baron MINI called and said my MCS will be in early
Possibly the end of April. Never did have any luck with my VIN # and the WW website. Must have been shipped by another shipping company.

The wait grows shorter!!

Update!

ASK-MINI puts my completion date at April 29th! Jeff, my MA at MINI of Sterling said upon completion, the wait is only like 2-3 weeks.

I'm so excited right now!

My MCS is at the dock in Southampton... waiting for Madame Butterfly!

Online info indicates that MB will arrive and depart Southampton on 4/24 then move on to New York on 5/2, Baltimore on 5/4 and finally unload my MINI at Charleston on 5/7. The waiting has been killing me but now things will begin to move along faster... so the light at the end of the tunnel is brightening a bit.

Specs:

Chili/White, White 16" wheels, MCS
Sunroof
Anthricite vinyl seats w/Chili dash
Chrome line interior pkg
Cold weather pkg
MFSW
LSD
Fog Lamps
Chrono pack
White bonnet stripes

I got only what I considered essential for me and also tried to MINImize complexities that might haunt me if I keep it past the warranty period (as little extra electronics as possible).

I am standing beside myself with excitement

Anybody else waiting on the dock?

Anyone else?

So wait... Are there no other May deliveries scheduled on this board?!

Also, does anyone know what port the ships go into when delivering to Northern VA?

One more thing - is there any way to find out when the next ship leaves for the East Coast of USA from England, after April 29th?
