Hmm, if I get my MINI (and don't have to work that day), I might swing by Tate and meet some fellow MINIacs!

What is a typical turn around time from arriving at the U.S. port to arriving at dealer?

Just found out about my MC! Dont know how long it has been waiting at the ports, but it has been a canceled order that we "adopted" before it was sent up the north coast. Im pretty sure it is waiting at the port, or the stage after that. Any one know how long it will take to get to get to birmingham, al?

Edit: never mind.....i read the above post

If your car has already been produced, can you find out the birth date and ship it was on, etc. (Mine is either still in port, or in transport to the dealer.):smile::smile::smile::smile::smile: :smile::smile:

I have the shipping manifest for CARMEN, which is scheduled to leave Southampton tonight at 1 am GMT. There are 200 cars on the list, so if you have the VIN, I can confirm its status on the manifest.

If you prefer, I can send you the manifest if you provide me with your email address.

sorry, I meant it has already arrived in the states and awaiting transport to the dealer. I was wondering after you have picked it up, is there any way to find out its build history, (dates, etc).

Try calling 1-866-ASKMINI and speak to a live operator. They should have all that info.

Is there any way to track the progress of a ship as it goes across the sea? To see if it is still on schedule?

I think the best way is to follow the W&W web site. Because of tight harbor schedules - for loading and unloading - that should be fairly timely information.

This morning, I found a web site that tracked ships based on their voluntary reporting of weather and sea conditions to the Coast Guard (or merchant marines, or some other governmental group). The plot didn't show every ship that was out there, but a good number. I can send you a link tomorrow morning from my computer at work (as if any work is getting done lately).

The Southampton harbormaster website also has ship tracking out to the Isle of Wight in the English Channel. That's just baby steps from the starting point, but save for storms (and this isn't the season), delays would likely come at either end of the journey.

Then again, you (and I) may just want to relax. It'll get here.

Hope this helps.

I've had inconsisten information from the 866-ASKMINI operators. From one guy saying "call as often as you want and we can tell you at what stage in production your car is in - paint shop, etc." to another saying "Oh your car won't be ready until maybe next week and we do not have an end date" (I told her to call the automated system since it has a build end date of 5/15 and that it had better information than what she had just provided).

My Audi is doing weird electrical things so I will need my new car.. soon.

3. Maybe 2nd 2005 cup holder (was on last car and moving over)
4. Parcel Shelf ( Just got today from CLASSIC MINI)
5. Benfer Carbon Fiber Engine dress-up kit
6. MINI Bumper Protector (Bought in the Markeyplace from an NAMer)
7. 6500K Xenon retrofit kit (was on last car and moving over. Plan to use as high beams)
8. Ian's Auto-up Circuit (was on last car and moving over)
9. M7 AGS (In the mail)
10. M7 Carbon Fiber Splitter (was on last car and moving over)

Tell me about it. I called this morning and Im wondering tonight if she's done. LOL. I won't pester ask MINI until Friday night before 9pm since they do not have live operators on the weekend. Though it seems that the people answering the phones in the morning are better informed.

So can someone explain the two NYs listed? The second one was added today. I thought my car was coming in today but it looks like it won't be till tomorrow.

Maybe it's a little glitch in the automated update. I hope there's not a bottleneck at the docks; my ship comes in tomorrow!

Now most people say that the Owner's lounge is slow and ASK MINI is more up to date. Well when I call the automated system it tells me this today:

"Your car Is at the port and awaiting a shipping vessel. There is no shipping information available at this time"
When I know the ship its on should be in port (in the US) yesterday or today. I'll live and be calm.....
