Wallenius Ship Unloading MINIs in NJ - Live Cam!
I'm going to do your "contact in NY" one better, from my desk here in Washington, DC, no less. Let's go to the Empire State Building, where they have a camera looking out toward the Statue of Liberty. Then let's look beyond Lady Liberty and a little to the right. Do you see the RoRo ship at the the docks (green on the bottom & white on top)? Looks like Wallenius colors to me...

I know. You can almost smell your MINI. Just be patient, customs can take a few days, sometimes even a week if they're busy.
So here's to feeding a healthy obsession. Someone whose MINI is on board (and who's old enough) needs to step up and buy me a beer.

You're welcome, MSBRAIN. I know how excited you are about getting your MINI and I did this for your benefit! My own car is weeks away. If you point at the ship in the picture, beyond the statue of liberty and to the right a little bit, then click and drag a box around the green and white RoRo ship, it will zoom in a little more.
And I'm not going to apologize for the blurry resolution. It's pretty good for a random webcam from 3-5 miles, if you ask me. It's not like I snapped the pic with a cell phone. Relax, little man. Our little cars are on their way.
All respect,

Wow, that is SO COOL! The Maersk Teal is big and blocky, utterly without grace like a huge shoebox in Kmart colors with a big blunt bow on one end, but she brought my Mini here slightly ahead of schedule so she's done well!
Thanks, dcmitchell! I did my undergrad in your neck of the woods (George Washington U). If you ever escape to Vermont to catch our foliage, the beer is on me! Pete

You are totally welcome, Boonie. And I did my undergrad kinda in YOUR neck of the woods - Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. I may even have a reunion coming up soon - my twentieth. If I go, we could definitely hook up for a brew or two in Woodstock, or WRJ, or Hanover. Alternatively, if you get down to DC anytime soon, look me up. I live in Georgetown, so just a short walk (or drive) to your old campus.
I agree. The stuff you can find off the internet is unbelievable.

Thank you very much
Visibility from ESB Observation Deck is Dropping
It looks to be a little hazy in NYC this afternoon, but the Maersk Teal still appears to be tied up at the dock in Port Elizabeth, NJ. I can b-a-r-e-l-y make it out.

I wonder... do they ever put cars on board in the US for the eventual trip back to the UK? I can't imagine that folks over in England have web sites dedicated to their slickly modded-out Chryslers, or right-hand-drive Hummers, but you never know.

re: Booyah!! My MINI is on dry land
Great news! But you're so excited that you forgot to change your signature, which reads: "Currently Sailing to New York."
Keep us posted, dammit!

dcmAccording to WW its been offloaded. But MINI shows its still "En route". I bet cause its a Friday I won't see an update till Monday.
I just read your post and for the heck of it called my Dealer. They say its about a week from the port to them. My MA has left for the day and is out on Monday so I won't hear from him till Tuesday (I spoke with another salesman just now). Oh well. At least I can sleep well knowing my baby isn't rolling back and forth on the sea and is on sturdy ground.

WOOHOO!
MiniUSA is now showing an estimated delivery date (to dealer) of May 18th, which is next Weds. I'm surprised, since it's less than a six hour drive from NY to Latham. At any rate, because I've asked for no dealer mods and sent them a HUGE case of gourmet coffee as a shameless bribe, I hope to bring Nugget home on Wednesday or Thursday of next week! pb
Gourmet coffee, eh? Hmm...
My wife goes out of town next weekend, and I don't want to pick up the car without her. This is our first car that we've bought as a married couple, and the first new car either of us has bought, so it's special in so many ways; I want her to be a part of it, and so does she. Even though I'm the MINI fanatic in the family.
So maybe beginning of the week after (23rd, 24th) I can have her get off from work and we'll get our car then. Hopefully!

Im so glad you are Sooooo close!
My MINI was in the paint shop yesterday. Today it is being assembled. I don't know how many days assembly takes. After assembly I don't know what else they have to do before it makes it to the port to board a ship..

It'll be here before you know it, rsunico!
Owner's Lounge says estimated delivery to the dealer (MINI of Sterling) on the 19th. Not bad. All they have to do is slap the chrome front grill on there, get the floormats in the front, and give 'im a wash, and I'll be there.

I may have spoken too soon. It shows I'm booked on the TAKASAGO for it's May 13th voyage. However when I use "Track By Booking Number" it still listed my car as "RECEIVED AT TERMINAL" and says nothing about "loaded onto vessel".
How it could have missed yet another ship I'll never know. It's been at the docks since the 4th of May. Well, I'll probably know more tomorrow.
