My Astro Black MCS is known to me as Darkness due to it's dark complexion...anyone who's seen Chappelle's Show and Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories about Rick James will know what I'm talking about
Okage is literally "your shadow", but means "in your presence", as commonly used.
I'd look at other languages, as well. German is a possibility. Russian can be interesting. The basic term for a shadow, "ten'", doesn't do much for me, but there's some interesting terms for gloom and such, might be more evocative.
Of course, there's always "Knight Rider" :-) I can't believe I just typed that..
This has given me an idea...there was an old radio show in the 50's about a vigilante called "the Shadow". The "Shadow's" real name was Lamont Cranston. How about Lamont? Which, btw, is French for "The Mountain".
The voice lead-in at the start of the radio show went something like this...(deep, dramatic male voice).... "Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men? The Shadow knows!"
My favorite MINI name so far is from a new member in MMMC, whose MINI is named Miles McNutt. I absolutely love it!
Hi all! I got my MINI about 3 1/2 weeks ago. It's a 2006 MC HB/W. I had it narrowed down to 4 names, Nigel, a nice English name, Pippi, after Pippi Longstocking, Merlin, cause he's English, and a magician, and KiKi, after a character, a girl thats a witch, in an anime film called "KiKi's Delivery Service." (I may have to look into why I want to name my car after a wizard, a witch, or a girl with superhuman powers!) I've sort of settled on KiKi for now, but may end up changing it to Merlin. The important thing though is that I actually have a MINI now, and it's everything I thought it would be, and more. Happy Trails!!
Gunner is good. How about "Darkside". Named mine "Little Bastard" and "Rain Maker" because that's what they are. For the sake of MOTD, "Little Bastard"
will be making the trip. CYA
Calilgula is the name of my DS 2002 MCS....
Caligula is not only the name of the tyrannical Roman Emperor, it is Latin for "little boots". I thought the name was good because our MINIs do have "Little boots".
