I have never named a car before, but as it seems to be something of a requirement for MINI owners here's mine. Jules. Named after Sam Jackson's hit man character in Pulp Fiction.

He is Hobbes.
Oh, the very last Calvin and Hobbes strip. My wife got me the Collected Works set for my birthday a little while back.

how does everyone feel about changing names. i picked the name Bourne early on but it never quite clicked for me and i never use it (the name not the car). When we started looking at names for our future child i found a few i really like thatwere vetoed by my wife. Aidric is probably what i would go with although i have a few others in mind as well.

Not a question of how we feel, it's how you feel. People change names, adopted animals and kids sometimes get their names changed. It's all good.

I never named a car before, but I've had boats with and without names and even when I put a lot of effort into an artistic paint job, I still just called it "the boat". Hence "d'Mini", like the well-known (around here) sportscaster, Buddy D'Liberto.

I call mine Fuzznutt, I had not gotten any tickets for over five years, but once I got the Mini I got 3 in the first two months. The last one the cop got me for speeding, but I was in the middle of a pack of five or six cars just going with the flow, but he singled me out.

I went ahead and named mine Merlin, what the heck no one else was using it. HB robe and a full head of white hair with lots of MINI Magic going on. He is a Druid at heart and a Celt in action.

It's also a bird of prey, and one heck of an aircraft engine!

The Mini

We (family/friends) also refer to it as 'The Mini' as well - but on our license plate, we flip flopped a few times between BAD NEMO & CURV ETR.

How about Widow..as in black widow?

I've got it!

I've decided to name my Electric Blue/White MCS... BLUTO! Remember Popeye's arch enemy? And, as a bonus, Bluto Blutarsky of "Animal House" fame!

i think that name is taken by a Porsche powered Cooper Monaco sports race car. It's called the "Pooper."

I have ordered a personalized plate that will read "SS MINI" (5-8 more weeks). The SS Mini is in reference to the SS Minnow of Gilligans Island fame. Though I expect to have better luck than the Minnow. As for the name, she'll be named Gilligan or Gilli for short. I am doing this to keep with the theme. Also having a CR/W roof car it kind of looks like Gilligan with his white hat and red shirt.

I posted a photoshop of my painted arches plan to my local MINI board. Someone mentioned that it looked very 'Stormtrooper', so the name became Jango, the "Father" of all stormtroopers. It had the right ring to it and it just stuck.

Now my wife has a big, black Cadillac. She's calling it "Vader"...

Sometimes MINIs have to try on their names for a while. If it doesn't fit, you must change it!
