R50/53 MINI Names
My mother suggested Gary....
Not bad, eh?
I'm afraid I must stick with my instincts and go with "The Liberator", named after the spaceship of Blake's 7.....
After all, it is my escape vehicle!

I've never named a car before but no other car has had the personality that my mini does. I named her Trixie because it's a British name that means to "bring joy or happiness". Thought it was a perfect fit.
I can't come up with anything decent. I'm thinking about trying to use a name from the Harry Potter series of books that not everybody would know, but none of them seem to fit.
As much as I want to call it Pig, it just won't work
Snuffles doesn't fit either, especially since its not jet black.
Gah I'm at a loss.

Crookshanks, who is a ginger tom. Close to red.
My MCS 06 didn't really have a name until MITM06. It seemed like I was the only one w/o one. But Scotti has seem to have stuck. (By my signature you can probably see why....plus the sticker is on the back.) And my Scottie is my co-pilot unless she thinks she's driving. =)
The first thing I thought when I saw the MINI I thought it should have a little "meep, meep" sort of horn (I was disappointed to hear that it was so deep). But I started to call MINI's "meep, meep's" her first name is Imperial which is the brand name of the red hot candies and she is RED HOT! She became the Imperial Meep, Meep or IMP for short.
I know its totally silly but I was very happy especially since I had never named a car before.

Penfold and I have been going strong for over a year. His name came to me as I was thinking of things uniquely British. Penfold is not only the name of the golf ball James Bond beat Auric Goldfinger with in Goldfinger but also the name of Dangermouse's faithful assistant in the 80's cartoon. We all need a faithful assistant and Penfold is mine.
I usually don't name my cars but my mini just has to have a name. After thinking for several weeks, I came up with the name Milo...it just seems to fit. However I don't have my mini yet, so it is subject to change once I see his personality.
Oh yeah, I also debated about whether it is a him or her. I was telling my coworker about the onboard computer and she was like, "Oh, he has a d.i.c. (drivers information center)" so he obviously had to be a boy.

It kind of surprises me how names from Hitchhiker aren't used:
Zaphod, Marvin, Trillian, Fenchurch, etc.
TS Elliot also penned a lot of great names: Skimbleshanks, Rum Tum Tugger, Bustopher Jones, Macavity, Mr. Mistofelees, Jennyanydots, etc.
