R50/53 MINI Names
After a long hard thought I have decided to name my CR/W S "Rufus" ......which means red-headed. Although it will have a white top...it just fits so well to me.
"Hey, me and Rufus are gonna be hanging out on the corner"

Nice color combo!
Mine is the same, I love the absence of your chrome bits. People call my car stealth. Your absence of bling is very understated and well...extremely stealth like. How about "Jet" As is the color, 'jet black' and also like a 'stealth jet.' I haven't actually named my car, there were lots of ideas, none that stuck.

My CR convertible is Mad Dasher, "Dasher" for short.
I named my car Sting for several reasons.
1> Yellow and black, kinda looks like a yellow jacket or a bumble bee
2> My favorite recording artist is Sting
3> My favorite author is JRR Tolkien. Bilbo and Frodo's sword was called Sting.
There you have it, the reason for my madness

Charlie is my 04 (one of the last) CR\B MCS. The car was either going to be Charlie or Stella and Charlie seemed more appropriate once I saw him.
But if I have to say where the names are from....you're buying the wrong car.

I named my MINI Nigel, I like Nigel because it sounded Brittish and it seems to fit pretty nicely. Then I found out from a friend of mine who use to race Mini's that there was a famous Mini race car driver named Nigel, so the name has two meanings,
I like it

I always named my cars and refer to them by name.
My first Mini Morris Innocenti was named "Petula" and I had her name written on the back of the roof . This was in Italy in 1980 and it caused quite a sensation .. people did not name cars and put their name on it. But I did .. I ended up with a pict. in the major newspaper " .. she can always find her car.. " The two of us looked really cool
Washington DC USA 25 yrs later.. 1st Mini MCS' name " Streghetta" (witch in Italian.. ) Now we have two convertibles in the house
MCC " Stella" named after Stella from the Italian Job movie but we call her "Stellina" - Little Star
MCCS " STREGA" called "Streghina" (little witch).
Just yesterday I was in the office and my husband and I were talking on the phone about Stellina and how we could coordinate to pick her up from the shop... a client of mine over heard the conversation and asked me "Difficult to find child care help these days isn't ?" when I told him that Stellina is a car he looked puzzled... and even more so when I told him that Stellina is Streghina (the car in the parking lot) sister...
