lol yup.. I've gotten them all.. these just tend to be most used though but I do use them all on this car. Whether to pull a line up through or to put one back on. Then I love small needlenose vicegrips for the hose clamps because they will lock open and allow you to put it where you need exactly then.
having the rite tool for the job really REALLY makes things easier.. like the clutch , having the trans jack and engine holder helped SO much..

 

Got the exhaust on today....I will let the video speak for its self....
also befor I put all my stuff out for the scrappers i took better pics of tgat Valeo clutch.. I seen its date snd checked my cars records to back then.. that p.o.s Valeo was a maximum of 12yr old and no more than 70k miles..I guess that's not too bad but geez. That flywheel is junk too. No wayyy it could be resurfaced. Btw I know , I purposely set the exhaust tips about lower because p.o of the exhaust told me they'd melted his bumper so I made sure they epuldbt melt mine too.. I even had to wire wheel off the charred bumper reminisce..

 

I replaced the front hubs today and put on the correct sized new spacers, hubcentric rings and extended lugs. I cleaned up everything under there too with a wire wheel and cleaned the sensors and their housings. When doing so on one side I seen the prior idiots forgot to notch the axle retaining nut. I also then put on my performance rotors i had left over from doing the r56s brake swap on my other car , im glad they never sold now,lol.. i will put on the ss brakelines too soon because im grabbing my buddies powerbleeder today . So hopefully i dont fight the bleeding after installing the lines because i alhave to bleed my other mini too because it refuses to bleed all the way the ghetto method.
so once i buttoned everything up i fired the car up AND the lights turned off like they always have. Which was no surprise because id moved it a few times just around the patking lot and its not a distance enoygh to reset the lights. So I drove it around the city fir about 45min AND THEY NEVER came back on.. saweeeeeeet. Now I have no dummy lights on in the car at all. My abs and traction control work once again because I DO prefer my abs working though I don't care if traction control is or not it's still nice to have it there if I need.

 

Replaced upper and lower engine mounts today.. I had to wait a few days because if you look closely at the new lower mount , I like to polly full the gaps to strengthen and stiffen it.
cleaned the left side engine mount retainer too.
both old mounts were bad , the upper I could mover around internally with just my hand because all its fluid pissed out and the lower mount 3x out of the 4x pieces of the bushing had torn so that was useless pretty much too.
ny engine lo long shakes at idle or will clunk when I shift it hard.
literally the second I got done as I was shutting my hood it began to rain..
I also grabbed my buddies powerbleeder for when I put the ss brake lines on this car , which i will do shortly..lol my stack of parts I bought and built up for this car sure is going down fast. I've also got lucky too having the spare parts I did on hand from my other mini , I'm really glad I didn't sell then now because using them has saved me more money than I'd gotten selling them. Saved me money and hassle.
I can't WAIT for nicer weather so I can begin cleaning the body up and shampooing and detailing the interior. Lol I'm out doing sooooooomething on this car EVERY day now I think since I've boughten it..lol. alot of people would dread the work , to me , it's NOT work. It's fun..

 

Replaced stock reservoir with a cheapo ebay one because it matches and goes with my black theme. I won't be replacing the p.s reservoir unless I find a black one that matches well.
I also removed the rear logo cooper S and replaced it with a blacked out one and I put on the black gascap cover.
unfortunately things are moving much slower lately because I tore my right pectoral the other day and everything, literally everything hurts. Even breathing in all the way hurts and if cough OMFG. it even hurts to just sit up and I gotta keep my stupid chest wrapped tight as it can get and that causes me to feel like I'm short on breath n have someone snuggling me all day long..ugh

 

Think I have that same coolant tank, installed a year or so ago when the factory one split at the seam, picked it up a while back 2nd hand on this board, put a new cap on, no issues since.

Wheel arches look sharp painted - did you finish them yourself or did the car come like that?

 

it came like that factory..it is a factory aero kit r53..

 

Put in 2x new outer balljoints. Then I let out about 10psi of each tire and evened them out..wooooooow , the car drives sooooo much better. No clunks , no more harshness going over bumps..I can't wait to get coilovers on this sucka. I'm going with the same ones as my other mini , rev9 hypersteet2.
Durring test drive i rolled into 2nd and went full throttle upto about 110mph and the car pulled PERFECT. ITS surprisingly fast actually, it's not much slower than my almost fully built r53 BUT ONLY 80mph and below. Anything above 80mph my other mini makes this one look like turd..buy having stock cam n sized valves is keeping the Low-end power there. The lightweight flywheel also seems to help ALOT as it's rev happy. And the clutch has 0 slip ,even when slamming into gear at high rpm high-speed. My other cars clutch has yo be on its way out. It feels so stiff in comparison and it's bite isn't NEARLY as good. So I'm putting this exact clutch kit into my other mini cone nicer weather.

I put on my larger hood scoop today.. grrrr , I had to stretch the front bra over it because it stick out so much buuuuuut thankfully I got it on still. Lol it does a perfect job of hiding the damaged hood and grill until I get a replacement.
I took off the rear faded out badge and replaced it with one IM NOT happy with. I wish id just gone pur black or chrome again. Imo it doesn't match. Awe well..
I then replaced the side markers with led ones. The old ones one of the light casing fell off so the blacked out led sidemarkers will match the head and tailights I plan on getting down the road.

 

stupid ? Do LED side markers need to be coded or plug in play? Only had my R53 for a month and I want to change all the side markers.

 

Plug and Play. Most lighting things for the R53's are plug and play.

lol I agree...i hate them. I think their ugly and asmuch as they can help prevent rock chips they will cause more issues catching debris build up under it.. it came with it and its hiding the janky hood and grill until i can find a color matched replacement or i can afford the aftermarket vented hood..it looks better with the bra on than it does without unfortunately.

 

I got and modified my throttle controller and I will provide you guys a link.. if your running a bmw v12 tbody YOU NEED this . Read the post I made and itle explain. Basically it completely corrects that dead pedal feeling the upgraded tbody gives..
I put in the lower shelf thingy I had from my other mini. Im so glad it never sold because its SO useful. In my other car I put in tgat custom 2x layer stacked shelving that matches the glovebox organizer. Trust me , if you dont have one its as useful as the euro parcel shelf is.. I miiiight take that out of my other mini and put in this one since this is the daily driver and that being a smoker n vaper I like to have all my stuff easily to quickly grab and put back down.
I have also contacted a fellow member ( MrBlah ) once again to purchase again another facelift ecu for this r53 too. He changes the vin so its plug and play and he can ALSO install either the jcw or stock tune and the jcw tune might be perfect for me and iiiiiiiiiif its not running lean , ille just keep it on the jcw and not have adriancl custom tune it. Then that should get me by safely until I finish building the head for this car.

 

This is what I'm looking forward to purchasing soon to test out.. I'd love to get torque plus running on it and backup camera ect.. it looks like it could be a really sweet upgrade. It even retains the speedo but converts it to that digital line..

I sold the 4x rims off the car and extra rims..
lol new rims and tires are already ordered. I'm gonna try and not drive my car because I had to sit in on my white rims and firehawk tires and stick the other car on Jack's. I didn't want my white car sitting in the parking lot on jackstands. that's ghetto and honestly too unsafe imo. Plus atleast I caaaaaan still drive it if I need to.. ille post pics of new rims and tires once they arrive , should be here in under a week.. They're gonna be sweeeeeeeeet !
btw , I DONT like how it looks at all with the mst and firehawks. They stick out too much and the white doesn't match , yuk

 

Well today I finally put on my ss brakelines I had sitting around for the front brakes. I couldn't bleed one of the calipers so I had to remove the bleeder and line and clean it out inside but it fixed it and then everything bled correctly. I also activated abs module and then rebled all 4x sides again. I'm sure I got all the old fluid out now fir sure for sure. The pedal feels amazing so I know there's no air in there.
I then painted the calipers and removed the 5mm spacers and the extended lugs still fit luckily.

 

I'm at my brother's house for 5x days watching his dogs so today I spent 5hr. YES 5X HOURS ! cleaning the mini , only 30min of that was washing the outside and the rest was scrubbing down every inch of the interior with the exception of the headliner with hot dish soap water and a little bleach. I got all the grime off the panels and seats and most stains out the carpet. I also vacuumed it until I got every single dog hair out of it. I even removed the rear seats to clean them and under !
I cannot stand the smell of anything or anybody else other than me. I even have trouble sleeping anywhere because Im so weird about it. I guess its because im such a clean frwak i HAVE TO KNOW things are clean and imo , it's just not clean enough unless I've cleaned it because then I know it's been throughly cleaned.. o yea , unfortunately nine of the local parts stores had a cabin air filter so I used compressed air and a shop vac and some disinfectant spray and cleaned it out until I get a new one soon.
im slso going with a facelift ecu and gp tune for this car as far as tuning.. it should be close enough with my mods i have and even then leave room for when i put my grs motorsport ic on this car once I find a liquid cooled intercooler for the other mini.

Greeeeeeeeeeaaaaaat ! Jerks tried ripping me off , wheel alliance.. they sent me very similar looming rims BUT clearly not the ones I'd ordered. These ugly ones are 60$ cheaper too.. it's been 2x days and no response yet.. I bought them off ebay with PayPal so they got 2x days to give me a return label and if they don't. I got 4x ugly rims for free then..
Customer service is just a thing of the past... its almost dreadful having to place orders online now between 2x , the business or shipping company my stuff going to get screwed up somehow. It's sooooooo frustrating.
I swear. The only time my orders are correct and delivered within a reasonable time is if it comes from over seas and uses DHL or some other shipping company. FedEx, usps and ups are all crooks.

 

K, not sure exactly what you were expecting... The auction picture looks to be a generic wheel picture to show the style. Wheel manufacturers publish pictures like this all the time. The wheel you received looks like the actual wheel. Wheel diameter and offset can have an effect on the appearance of a wheel, but I'm sure you knew that.

Am I missing something else?

 

lol yes . One wheel is gloss one is matte , one is far more concave than the other and one has 2x more spokes AND there's a weight difference too..
So sorry I know your trying to bust my chops but your wrong..
I was clearly sent a different model rim and it is even priced 60$ cheaper because it's uglier and doesn't sell..
so look closer at the pictures again and your telling me you'd be ok with that .????
and no. It's not reference pictures..the 2x rims are CLEARLY different... if you don't see that idk what to tell you...

I didn't even knowtice till the 2nd one i opened that they were wrong but my wife said as soon as I pulled the 1st one out " oooo they don't look nearly as nice in person as in the pictures , I don't like them actually " lolol so she could tell. Then I showed her the initial ones I ordered and she agreed with me.. funny how I get sent cheaper ones that look similar but not more expensive ones that look similar..
