Stupidity turned on my airbag light

I am deep cleaning the car in anticipation of sale and pulled out the front seats to clean them.

I had to run a errand so I quickly put one back in, and in the process activated the airbag light... guess this is how I learn!

I have a bluetooth OBDII reader but the apps I've tried so far don't see the code. There isn't a local dealer so I'm hoping for suggestions.

Naturally I cannot sell it like this...

Has it not gone off with everything reconnected? Not sure if unplugging the battery for a length of time would reset it, but at the very least this post keeps it near the top of the list 😀

Had a similar issue once and fixed it with a reset.
You need an OBDII diagnostics unit that can read and reset (erase) SRS codes.
The brick and mortar parts stores - Autozone, O'Reilly, Advance, Carquest etc - sometimes have them to lend out or will help you with reading your car in the parking lot, but likely won't let you take it home unlike other lender tools. Amazon if you want to buy/try/return your own reader to DIY - not a bad investment for the long haul for these and any cars - and then there's the random indy shop if you trust them. Last choice would be the Stealership.

Unfortunately my local O'Reilly can be a little hit or miss on allowing resets. I'm thinking this will be a Amazon buy/return.
I haven't yet found a app that'll cover this.

Depending on where you live that may be a legal / liability requirement. The OhReally? I went to just handed me the scanner - an Innova - and said have fun. But that was for an SES (service engine soon) light. Amazon might be the way to go for you, they have them in multiple price points, good thing to have in your kit anyway or just use and return (clean of course).
I picked the Foxwell NT604 I picked the Foxwell NT604
and decided to keep it. Could have returned and/or upgraded but this one did the trick for me.

I will have to look into the Foxwell and if it has broad support as previously I’ve had VAG (free software) and then Mini (app until now) and now the stable will be Kia and Mazda (kid isn’t 16 for 3 years… who knows how that will go). If I buy a tool I’d like it to cover into the foreseeable future.

that's pretty shitty to do to the seller. They eat the shipping costs and idk if youve seen shipping prices lately.. go buy a scanner at walmart and return it but dont make someone else pay for your messup..
Have you tried torque app or one that just called " car scanner " those are the ONLY 2x I ever have luck with and back in my s55 amg the torque app allowed for pretty much everything ( was the purchased version)...
good luck ! But plz don't stick it to an online seller...

You have a interesting point but as the Amazon order is already on the way there is little I can do... guess I have poor karma for the day. Then again this is part of what a seller signs up for with "free returns" and such a policy is required particularly in the area of shoes/garments due to a lack of standard sizing (particularly on Amazon since Chinese sizes are rampant).
I tried my Torque app with no success.

I have the Foxwell 510, and it's been a great resource for my BMW's and Honda's. Resetting the airbag light can be done, as well as the ABS bleed. Worth keeping it if you ever think you'll be wrenching on more cars.

I'm late to the party, but INPA will also reset airbag lights.
