Airbag Light Help :(

2003 Mini cooper S

Ive only had the car for about a month now. and seems light small issues always keep popping up.

Now randomly with no accident or reason the airbag light is on.

I took it and had it scanned the computer said "number 3 ECU power Supply" they didn't give me a PXXX code though.

can some one please help.

I went through all the fuses and checked everything power wise and everything seems in good shape nothing blown.

If it turns out to be the Airbag control module I have one for sale, but it might be something simpler, lets hope.

I assume you're talking about the dashboard airbag light. If you're talking about the overhead passenger air bag light - well that one's tougher...

I have the same problem. My mechanic thought the weight sensor on the passenger seat had gone bad. I haven't yet inquired as to the cost. I'll be curious to know what your underlying cause was and what the fix was.

Yup...but "certain cars" and 10 years/150,000 miles means that unless the car was delivered very late, you will be $$$ to fix it....but it does help you pinpoint the places too look....the plugs under the seat can be troublesome sometimes....
The weight sensor in the seat is unique to the 2005+ production gen1 "refresh" cars, so posts on that info does not apply to older cars....

mine is over 10 years but under the 150 still screwed.

i checked all the plugs a little bit ago everything is solid. and there was tons of slack in the harness clueless there.

mine is an 03 so are you saying the weight sensor is only 05+ or 02-04?

Weight sensor is 2005+....
The light for the airbag will remain lit if the error has EVER OCCURED, even if it is present till it is reset....
