Hello everyone, I have a REALLY strange question today. My wife and I recently purchased a used 2006 Mini S, which we love. The center console switch bank is "loose" (the plastic tabs are broken) so I took it out to source a replacement bank. When I did that, I noticed there was a strange "in line" circuit board attached to the switch bank (see picture). I have NO idea what this thing does. I removed it out of the in line setup (so back to what I think is stock?) and everything seems to work OK but I haven't taken her out for a spin yet. Does anyone have any idea what this thing is?
You sir, win a prize I think!! I tried all of the functions of the switches and everything seemed to work, until I tried to "double click" the window up button to auto them up... and guess what? It doesn't work now . Ah well, I don't really need auto up anyway and I'd rather be stock.
Oh, are they out of production? I remember when they used to be available at Outmotoring, but I haven't looked for one in a long time. I never bought one because I coded auto-up on my driver's window, and I don't have any kind of stability or traction control.
They are out of production and worth some money because they’re still in demand.
I’m not sure on all versions, but there were two options for the auto up, single or double click. The pdf instructions for the later versions can still be found on some sites, and there’s probably some old posts with info on the functions available on each version.
Version 7 was the last version, and the circuit board was labeled in one of the corners on the later ones. Maybe it’s labeled on the other side?
Version 7 had auto up windows, auto on fog lights, auto disable DSC/ASC, and two hidden accessory switches using the lock and unlock toggle. The accessory outputs could also be set between momentary or latching.
I don't know if this helps but I found another place that claims to sell a board that has these features when I was trying to find version 7 of the board I currently have. I think I had an older version of the board (not the V7) so I am trying the new place out (I have no relation at all - just found them on Google). The website is: https://roskinc.com/products/alva-au...ule-mini-coper
I'll let you know how it works but the package looks a little cleaner for the install.

Thank you Deepgrey for "confirming"!!!!
would you be willing to sell this to me if you’d rather be stock? If so, message me!
Quick update for the group - I got the new unit in the day before yesterday. Its really nice looking - seems to be a "tighter" package overall. I haven't had time to install it yet but will update when I do.
I have this Roskinc unit in my MC40 and it works great. Note: you will need to modify the dash slightly because when reinstalling the switch panel this module (attaches behind the panel) will hit the plastic dash support and cause intermittent connections. Just take a Dremel with a sanding wheel and notch the plastic (it's not visible with the switches in place) behind the panel and you're good to go. It programs up/down on both windows and can program any switch (DSC, fog lights, etc.) in the switch panel. I have an extra module I'll let go for $50 if anyone's interested. PM me.
