Asking the experts: I need a illuminated, 3-position switch - Help?

I’ve been looking all over for a illuminated, 3-position toggle-type switch for my new driving lights, but the terminology is a bit confusing, and some of the sites I’m finding are obviously intended for someone with an Electrical Engineering degree…

I need a small switch, red illuminated, ideally with a chrome toggle lever, with a center “off” position and *2* “on” positions, as my lights have LED “angel eyes” as well as center main lights. Most of the switches I’m seeing are basic 2-position (on/off) ones, and will not work with what I need to do. A more basic “rocker” type switch would work as well – that’s what my lights came with, but it’s not illuminated, and I’d prefer to have that feature. I THINK I need a "2 pole" switch, since I need two, distinct circuits controlled by a single mechanical switch, correct?

Can anyone recommend a good supplier, or has anyone used a switch like this that you’d recommend?

Thanks!

What you are looking for is a three position Single or Double Pole/double Throw (SPDT or DPDT) switch. Painless Performance makes one (Part # 80403) that might do the job although they didn't post a wiring diagram so I can't be sure.

Thanks! This looks really close to my stock one, with added lighting:

I've emailed them with questions on the wiring layout. Thanks so much for steering me in the right direction.
