>>Well, somehow I got loaded on the Tosca a day after it sailed, as thats what my status says, unless I'm on a different ship and the name hasn't updated yet.

Glad to hear that you made it on. Unfortunately, I'll be following after. ASK-MNI told me today that I still have not been loaded (was supposed to sail on the TOSCA) and have not been assigned to another vessel. I have visions of an unintended fender bender with my car.

>>Peng1, thanks for posting the picture of the beautiful and rare silk green Mini. I've seen very few pictures of this color on this forum. Maybe we need to form our own club (as I think someone already suggested.)

Thank you! - The truth be it - photos just don't do the color any justice at all - you have to move a bit when you look at the Silk Green to get the full, almost iridescent effect. It almost takes on a whole new color in varying conditions - clouds, sun - shade. And the color in the MINI brochure/booklet is WAY OFF. The closest I've seen to the actual color is in the ultra MINI brochure (it's about an inch and a half by an inch and a half),

We'll just hafta post a lotta pics!

Well, I believe the next ship will be picking cars up on Thursday, so you should be fine there. I'm still trying to figure out how a whole slew of cars magically appeared on deck of the Tosca after it already left port,

All I know is we've come a long way!! It's almost February so most of us are only weeks/days away from driving our MINIs away. I might be whistling a different tune next week, but time isn't standing still even though it feels like it at times. I am about to begin the process of cleaning out my current car and getting it ready to sell. All I know is that it sucks my tags would expire the end of January when my car is due in February!!! I have to go through that hassle the next couple of days - taking my car to the emissions testing center/etc when I'm going to be getting rid of it in the next few weeks. Okay, enough ranting...

Way to go February club!!! We're almost there!!!

from tmac earlier today:

>>Supposedly Mine had a work order at the VPC of 1/26, and I just confirmed that it was loaded on a truck today, so it definitely did not take too long to get through. The operator said that it should take 2 days to get to MN, but I imagine there will be a lengthy stop in Chicago to drop off a number of your cars. I still think mid next week is a good guess on when I'll see it. The wait is REALLY getting hard now.

tmac: thanks for the update! here's what I got from ASKMINI email today:

"" I know, the waiting is the hardest part, isn't it?! I checked our records and found that your MINI arrived at the Vehicle Processing Center on January 23rd and as of today, January 27th, your MINI was in the "Release to Carrier" stage. At this point, it's going through the final paperwork to release it to the trucking company which will take it to your dealer! I would expect it to get loaded onto a truck either today or tomorrow and depending on how many stops the truck has to make on the way to the dealer, around 4 or 5 days to arrive there. Then your dealer will also do a final inspection and prep the vehicle for you to pick up! Around a week or less I would estimate, almost home! Once your MINI is in the next step "Delivery", in the next day or two, that will be the last step that we show until your MINI arrives at your dealer. ""

Woohoo I'll keep y'all updated as I find out info this week.. Woohooooooo!!!

and as of 1/27/03 at the VPC.
Not the order printed yet - as per ASKMINI
OL still says EN ROUTE and delivery of 1/24/03
Sort of mess, but maybe getting toward the end.
So, it looks The AIDA Party was pretty long, hope the babies will have time to recover before we get them....

Great Updating, dear SMKKVK - THANK YOU!! Made it to Status 160 as of today, 1/27. Ready to board a train to Southhampton -- that is unless BVLGARI is really further along and zipping toward an as-of-yet unnamed freighter. Best to all.

Got a call from my Dealer (Don Rosen, Philadelphia) saying that our mini should be at the dealer and ready for pick-up in 10 - 14 days. Now it's time to decide to sell our Chevy Cavalier privatly (the most likely option) or trade it in.

I was also told by the dealer that the dealer installed alarm for 2003 Mini's should start to be available by late next week. Just in time for Ferris to get his watch dog installed!

Motor On

Thanks for the nod SMKKVK!! I'm content to wait for March, but if the currents/weather/timing and mood of my dealer allow me to drive off the lot in February, I sure won't complain!

Howzit?! Question fer ya, how long did it take from the VPC 'til shipped to Hawaii?
Dealer said a March delivary but ASK-MINI states a Feb. date. Wishful thinking is shooting for Feb. but that all depends on how long it takes to ship from VPC.
The wait is unbearable....I'm a total MINIac!!!!

For the "list" keeper (SMKKVK). My EB/W MCS is booked on the Falstaff. Supposed to depart Southampton on 01/30, due in NY on 02/07.

Isn't Falstaff the name of a cheap Beer?

Didn't the Titanic sail from Southampton?

Hi RUMINI, We're in this swim together. The Falstaff it is then -- A Swedish Freighter built in 1985 with the call sign of 'SLCO.' How did you find out about the likely scheduule? I found out that BVLGARI was at the terminal by checking the WW site, though ASKMINI & Owners' Lounge don't have the info yet. Such excitement.

Dear SMKKVK - Whenever you get a chance, you may proudly announce my great news as booked on Falstaff. Hurray!!

Now how do I find out about the scheduled East Coast stops for the Falstaff? Keep checking the WW site? Ciao. Hurray!!

DON'T DO THAT!!!!! Somebody in the January club made the same reference to the TRICOLOR and look what happened to that boat!!!!

When it shows your car's status, click on the name of the boat, that's a link that will take you to the ship's schedule.

Thank you so much; found it!! All good wishes float with the FALSTAFF. I learned that it will leave New York approx. 2/7/03, arrive in Brunswick, GA on approx. 2/10/03, arrive in Galveston, TX on approx. 2/14/03, arrive in Veracruz, Mexico on approx. 2/16/03 and Port Heuneme, CA on approx. 2/28/03, then on the Japan's port at Yokohama on approx. 3/13/03.

Jump in now for a little sub-group called FALSTAFF FUN, as our dears have a lovely trip across the pond sipping champagne and getting ready to motor.

Who else will be on board besides RUMINI's neat MCS and my BVLGARI? Let SMKKVK know so we can celebrate and anticipate together.

Hello, all.

Has anyone had any luck tracking the Carmen via plugging in its call signs? According to the Owner's Lounge, she should be at sea, and from your comments, she is set to arrive in NYC tomorrow.

I just returned from a long business trip and have much catching up to do regarding everyone's progress.

Hoping everyone will have a Mini parked in their garage soon.

-Otto

OUCH! My bad. OK, so even though the T*tan*c sailed from Southamption, that boat was constructed in Ireland (or so say the Southampton locals). Good Karma please, good Karma.

I will buy as many cases of Falstaff as I can find tonight...

Kohu'ula Mini
I dont have exact dates or times, It arrived in California on the 11 of January, and is now on the dock in matson, so i can assume it was only about a week and a half at the VPC. BTW if you want to track your car through matson just go to their website you will need your vin and the link on the main page to "track your vehicle" does not work but if you go to the shipping a vehicle then link to "Track your Vehicle" you can enter your VIN and it will tell you if what ship your on and when it is due to arrive. Hope you get yours soon maybee we can get a group together and do the island.

Am completely confused now....ASK MINI still says that my MINI has not been assigned or loaded on a vessel, but the W&W site shows my MINI as having been loaded on the TOSCA 1/27- the day after it left port (1/26)!

May need to seek solace with my friend Jack Daniels - he always listens when no-one else will....

My new MINI also was "awaiting transport" for about five days after the ship web site reported it as loaded. Maybe they update in batches ...
