I was having trouble also. Turned-out that I had a letter incorrect in my VIN. Double check that!

Anyone have an accurate ideas as to how long VDC will actually take? ASKMINI says 7 days from arrival in Charleston to my dealer. Is this realistic?

[QUOTE=Sticky Wicket]Yeah. I've been fairly happy with them so far. I'm on the island and they have good service (loaners, car pick up and drop off, etc) so they seemed a good choice.QUOTE]

Hey when you pick up your car see if you see mine... he should be wearing shorts and sunglasses . When I was out there I stopped in and talked to the guys for hours much nicer than the dealers out here.

BTW anybody found the TRIANON on the oceanweather website? I don't think it is on the list. Anyway (according to the Bill of Laden) 288 MINIS onboard.

Any help or ideas for this situation?
You may not be in their system, if like my car, your car is being transported on a K-line ship. Read earlier in this thread for more about this.

I'm pretty sure that not all MINI's are transported by WW. Not sure who the other carriers are but I think that CincyMCS's MINI is being transported by a different carrier, so he may have an idea

hehe...I guess he beat me to the post

Just found...The Jingu MAru Call sign is JPPT. Can we say Obsesive/Compulsive . Now look for it on the maps at oceanweather. Itis hard to see it until it gets out into open water.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out or it. Who's your MA?

Here is a link to specs on the boat...http://www.ww-group.com/index.asp?st...00163&noart=30

Hey Sticky and for those out there with your car on the TRIANON the call sign for the TRIANON is LAIZ4.

My MA was Jerry he has been very helpful. I am just worried about the trucking Co that will pick it up and bring it out here.

For those other folks on the Jingu Maru...if you call ASK-MINI or on the OL do they say that your car is on the boat? Both of them say that my car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel, but the WW site says that my car was loaded at 8:06 yesterday morning. Hopefully, MINI is just being slow and Bruno is on the partay boat

From my observations so far, MINIUSA is about two days behind the other sources (your MA, shipping websites, etc.). I have faith that if the WW site says they loaded your car, it's probably true. They may actually have less red tape to go through than MINIUSA.com as far as data entry.

I still can't see the ship's position on oceanweatherinc.com.....has anyone else been able to see it on their Marine Observations map?

Man, this is getting nerdy . My wife cannot believe the amount of research we are all putting into this process

Amanda,

It took several days for ASK-MINI and the OL to change status to "En Route" after my car left Southhampton on 1/13. However, our MA had the correct info the next day after mine shipped (FYI...I think she's going to be out of town until Tues).

Jim

Appearently not all ships are part of the oceanweather program and not all ships on the program report every time so appearently it may pop up on the map and then not show later. I have not been able to find my ship either.

You know your bad off when you know; your VIN by heart, the ship name, the shipping Co...etc WE ARE DEFINATELY NOT ALRIGHT IN THE HEAD

I prefer the sailwx.info site. It only shows your ship instead of having to play needle-in-a-haystack.
Here is the link for the Jingu Maru http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=JPPT

Hmmm. This report seems out of date. It shows the ships movement as of Jan. 10.

Looks like I gotta figure out this ship stuff :P

Wonder how long to Southern California? I'm going to have to focus on selling the 3er very soon

Not sure if there is a better method until it gets out into open water, but according to the WW site, if a port is in red, it means that the ship has left that port. So, the Zeebrugge, Belgium site is red as of today and the next port of call is NY, so I'm assuming that it's on its way and will get to NY next Friday

You can also track arrivals and departures from the Port of Southampton here:
http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/com/smovements.htm

The live radar is pretty cool, you can watch your vessel come into and leave port.
Ciao,
