MandaBoo, I'm ditto whatever you find out. Our production numbers are consecutive.

 

O.K., I just talked to my MA and he said I am "scheduled for production" on January 2, '05. The ask MINI # said I was "scheduled for production" but had "no completed production date."

 

Lucky you... just called ASK-MINI. They told me mine is schedule for the 2nd week... 1/2/2005. Nothing changed.

 

Well, today my OL says that my car is scheduled for production. I wonder how long it takes for the OL website to catch up to what ASK-MINI will tell you?

Edit: Nevermind, I just looked at the OL site again and the options go from Scheduled for Production to Waiting for Transport, so I guess it is up to date now

MINIUSA.com is now showing that I am scheduled for production. So, this is about two days behind what I was told by ASK MINI.

I finally ordered a MINI, and I am officially scheduled for production but with no confirmed date (according to ASK MINI). The options on my Cooper S Dark Silver w/black roof include:

- LSD
- HK Audio System
- Chrono Pack
- On Board Computer
- Anthracite Interior
- Anthracite Headliner
- Multifunction Steering Wheel

 

Its feels good to see people ordering Anthracite Headliners after the work we did to bring it back!

 

I've called my dealer, Baron BMW/Mini 5 times now with no returned call about my order number, but here are my specs

Just called ASK-MINI (awesome voice navigation..)

My MCS is currently in Production and scheduled to be finished by Jan 12th! I never knew it took soooo long for them to build the car. I think i'm gonna go watch the video of how its built again hehe.

 

My MA at MINI of the Hamptons said 1st week of Jan but he has not called with my production # . I am hoping for a Feb Delivery.

Anyone else have the Anthracite headliner on order but not indicated on the tracking?

I've ordered two 2005 MCS cars with the anthracite headliner and neither of them appeared in the Factory Ordered Options list on the OL. If you're really worried about it, simply call the 1-866-ASK-MINI number, talk with a live person, and ask them to confirm your options. I did this once just to be sure everything was correct on my order (after having made some changes).

Basically, what doesn't appear on the Review Order Details page in the OL are the following (that I've found with my three MINI orders):

1) Roof & Mirror Color
2) Anthracite Headliner
3) 17" Web-Spoke Wheels (added to the Sport Package - I don't know if they show up when ordered as a stand-alone option)
4) Interior Description (this actually appeared for two of my cars, but not the third)

I believe that everything else shows up (including the black/white bonnet stripes, rear fog lamps, convenience package, interior surface in body color, chrome line interior, chrome line exterior, heated front seats, limited slip diferential, etc.).

 

I did talk to a live person at ASK-MINI, concerning rear fogs which did not appear on my Order Detail. Not only did he assure me that the car would indeed HAVE the rear fog lamp just as I had spec'd, but (mysteriously, incredibly) the option showed up on my Order Detail the next DAY !!

For the next few visits to OL after that, I kept checking to see if maybe they would throw in DSC, LSD, that sharp lookin anthracite headliner, possibly some Xenons, etc (alas, no such luck).

I'm missing Ant. headliner too. Confirmed by ask-mini!

I'm usually not this talkative, but I'm in the home-stretch of "the wait" and it's taking its toll .

I just wanted to recommend pestering your MA for up-to-the-minute status on your order. Just today I had this idea reinforced by ASK-MINI, who thinks my car (which is actually at the Charleston VPC) is still in England, waiting for a ship!

I am half-convinced that the seemingly haphazard Owner's Lounge and Ask-MINI "updates" are the work of some sinister "Customer Expectations Manager" at BMW... He or she has elevated many an MA to "hero" status, of that you may be sure . Witness the following conversation (the names have been changed to preserve the high level of service I've been treated to, thus far):

Tatt: Aww now, be fair, my guy at the MINI dealership has been great! They got this killer computerized system ya see, that tells you genuine accurate up to date order status - it's terrific!

3rd week of Jan for me too. I was missing a lot of things when I first checked, and there was one option I didn't order. I called ask mini, and they said to get with the dealer fast. I called the dealer, he apologized, and fixed the order. The web site is still wrong, but when I called the ask mini site to check, they read the options back correctly.

 

Etickt--- Has your OL been updated to anything but on order? I'm gonna call my MA too!

My order was placed when the dealer got the price for the LSD. I was one of the first on the list for his jan build allotment put my $1000 deposit way back in Oct.They would not take it before that. He told me that it was scheduled for 01/05/2005 build I don't know if that is when it starts and then how long to finish, ship and prep? I want to have fun looking up my car's status like everyone else...Dang-it :smile:

 

No, the web site still has me at "on order". The ask-mini people definitely have more complete, and up to date info than the OL site does. I'm resisting calling them again. I haven't called in over a week.

Now that's willpower.

 

I was the first order at my dealership for the new LSD. Also since i'm a previous customer i didn't have to put down any deposit. I just called ASK-MINI yesterday and it said my car is currently in Production and should be finished on Jan 12th.

Also once your car is built it should take about a month if your on the east coast. It only took my 04' about 3 1/2 weeks from order to delivery.
