R50/53 **JAN 2005 build official tracking thread**
WW lost my car?
Well, I was able to find my car on the Wilhelmsen site last night. I even had a booking number and a vessel (the Carmen). But, I checked this morning, and now WW says my VIN # doesn't register in their system.
Anybody else with a 1/11/05 prod date check theirs lately?

Just checked mine and it says it has been received at the terminal on its way to Charleston, SC on the Jingu Maru. Maybe there is just some computer glitch. I would hope that yours is right with mine. If the voyage data is right for the ship, it is not scheduled to leave South Hampton until the 19th and will not arrive at Charleston until the 1st of February. Hopefully, it won't have to sit at the VDC too long!
I posted this on another thread but I thought I would repost here. My car was done on Jan 9th and waiting to released to carrier. Now ASK-MINI said it is in Quality assurance. Holy Crap my car is moving backwards through production. Everyone here that had up to Jan 12th production is on a dang boat mine is going to sit in Oxford ,for what, who only knows.
I wouldn't worry too much. My car is sitting at the dock, but the boat its scheduled to be on won't pick it up until the 19th. So, if it makes you feel any better, a car that was completed on the 11th won't leave the UK for 6 more days. Assuming your car was supposed to have similar timing, that would be plenty of time to go through some QA and still arrive at the dock on time. I could happen!

HTH,
Well the screwy thing about CincyMCS's car is that they were built on the same day and they are bound for the same dealer. Wouldn't you think that they would be on the same boat?
I know, there I go thinkin' again

Amanda,
You're right, it just wouldn't be right for Bruno to leave Butch behind!
Brothers have to stick together! (Well, at least until the season starts, then sibling rivalry takes over

Called ask-MINI again today. My "completed" date has been extented to the 15th.
(was the 12th) It's in the paint shop today. I hope I can catch a boat sometime next week.?
I guess it will be bound for Charleston since I bought it through Century MINI in Greenville, SC. Isn't the North Atlantic supposed to be really really nasty this time of year? I don't know if "wiggles" can swim.

[QUOTE=GianniB]I would imagine that the vessel only has a limited number of cars it can accomodate. The vessel that my car got bumped to left the same day from Southampton as the WW one it was originally scheduled on and actually beat the WW vessel to Charleston by a day. Call your MA and see if you can get the shipping info from them. In my case they were able to and ASK-MINI had no visibility to it.
John,
I think you hit the nail on the head! My MA is not in yet, but the ASK-MINI automated message is now saying that my car is "in transit, call your MA for shipping information", so the car is apparently on a boat already. Thanks for the heads-up about the K-Line. From what I can gather by looking at the bookings for the Carmen, they only take about 25 Minis at a time. So maybe it's not so odd that Amanda's car is on a different ship.

I imagine Butch and Bruno at the dock, knowing that they have the same destination and looking forward to leaning on each other during the long voyage across the vast ocean, to be with each other through the cruise parties and to hold one another's bonnets when they got sea sick. Being there to play with at the wait at the VDC and to comfort each other in the truck on the drive to Cincy. Hmm, I guess they'll have to make new friends now
Minor update
MINUSA.com is now showing my car waiting for transport. So, my car was completed on 01/12 and the website was two days behind reporting this....not bad.
How are you guys finding out the vessel details?

New 17" Web-Spoke Wheels
Hi All,
If anyone wants to see what the new 17" Web-Spoke wheels look like on a real-life MINI...
Mark Scheuern took a couple of really nice shots of some MINI's at the 2005 North American International Auto Show which happened to of had the new Web-Spoke wheels on them (one hardtop and one convertible):

I agree that they look really good. I ordered them on my spec blindly so I'm very glad to see that they look as good as they do. As for the choice between the 17" R90's and the Web-Spokes, that's a tough one as they both look good (and they're very similar as well). I'd say that I'd have to go with the Web-Spokes though because you can get them cheaper when you order your car since they're installed at the factory (i.e. they're a $500 upgrade on top of the Sport Package or $1,100 stand-alone. Whereas with the R90's you have to pay for the stock wheels and then buy the R90's aftermarket from the dealer) and I think that they might be a pound or so lighter (at 22.3 lbs).
Our CR/CR MCS was completed today and is now waiting for a ship. I am told that it will take about a week, then 10 days on the water and another week before it gets to our dealer. Let's see if it stays on schedule!
Hmmm...the Web Spokes...can't decide for sure if I like them. I would like to see them on another color. I think I will be sticking with the Bullets.

K-Line ship Emden
Long time reader, first time poster.
I ordered a BRG/B MCS from Baron Mini of Kansas. It was completed on the 10th or 11th and is currently making its way across on the K-Line ship Emden. I kept checking the WW site and getting "no info" for my VIN. Finally, I got my MA to tell me the Bill of Lading number and I called K-Line's customer service.
here's the tracking link for the Emden in case anybody else has a vested interest in that ship's progress. It's scheduled to arrive in Charleston on the 26th of January.

I think things are speeding up!
I checked with ASKMINI today, and Oswald is scheduled for completion on January 24th! Earlier in the week the ASKMINI person said that it was scheduled for production the week of the 24th.
