I'm on my third 05 MINI now and so I can tell you first hand that the EDD in the OL refers to the date that your car will be delivered to the dealership (at least that's how it works on the West Coast anyway).

 

Well, I got a call from Mercedes @ Westchester MINI today saying that my car is in!!! Gonna go tomorrow after work to do the swap! Funny thing, the OL says my car is at the distribution center with an estimated delivery date of yesterday. Ha!

 

Mine went into production the second week of Jan. I believe it was complete on the 17th.

I guess I am a lucky one!! I think I beat some MINI's that were built before mine.

 

It is the estimated delivery date to *the dealer*. The original date (in my case it was 1/30/05) showed up on the OL when it was about halfway from the UK to Charleston. Then the estimate changed to 1/31/05 after it reached the VDC. It did actually arrive at the dealer at 12 Noon on the 31st, and I picked it up the next day!

 

mine was like that. originally i was supposed to be on the madame butterfly, but all it showed was scanned at the terminal. when i check a day later, by putting my vin number in i showed as being on the don juan with an actual "loaded on vessel". so that seems to be the key - they seem to shift the cars around. my MA thought i was on the madame butterfly as well, until i told him it had changed.

 

It's good to see another Portlander awaiting their MINI. I believe are cars are riding together on the NYK ship named "Centaurs Leader". That is according to TheOfficeMaven's earlier post.

 

My MA just called and my MINI is at the Dealer being cleaned up!!! Hopefully I can make the trip down to Century MINI/BMW tomorrow.

Rasmussen Mini in Portland has 25 MINIs arriving on the M/V Falstaff. That ship should be in Port Hueneme on Feb. 20th.

 

Its safely on land at the VDC . Hope to see it next week .

 

The Jingu Maru is at the port being unloaded.

 

They show on their web site that my car was unloaded @ 4:45 today.

Well, I'm officially motoring with the '05! (gotta change the sig pic now!) Picked it up last night after work. I must say, the 05 is MUCH quicker off the line than my previous 03. The new gearing sure helps alot. I love the look of the anthracite trim with the anthracite headliner and chrome interior. I also like all the new datails they added for 05 like the illuminated door handles and the puddle lights in the doors. Even tho its essentially the same car I had before, the feeling is the same as when i first got the 03. I spent the day reinstalling the stereo system and bluetooth phone kit from my old car today, so I haven't had a chance to take any pics yet, but hopefully tomorrow I'll get some pics up.

 

Mark, I feel your pain. I took delivery of an 05 MCS in August. Never could determine the ship. MA no help at all. One day it was at port, the next day it was en route. But the good news is it did arrive about 4 1/2 weeks after it left Southampton (actual delivery date.)

I was out of town yesterday and just checked my status on Mini#2. Production was complete on 1/27 and it is now en route. I guess it sailed 2/4 or 2/5. I'll look for it to get to port is 22 days and then welcome it home a few days later.

If I find out anything I'll post for you!

I called my MA Friday and he said that he was showing that the car was loaded on a vessel and left the port on the 2nd. Looking at the WW schedule, the one possible ship out at that time to Port Hueneme is the OTELLO. Looks like it stops on the east coast a few times before it heads to the west. I'm going to assume that the OTELLO is my stork. If only somebody had a way to see if the VIN was loaded in it. the WW website shows nothing when I load the VIN on the auto tracking link. Oh well it's on its way. Should be motoring mid march.

 

well, here are pics if the new baby. It's a lil dirty, but its still too wet out from all the melted snow for it to be worth washing.

My EDD is Thursday, but now my hubby is trying to convince me to get the JCW package as we plan on doing all that stuff eventually anyway and the JCW will keep the warranty, so who knows when Bruno will come home?

 

Picked it up on Thursday in Kansas City. Drove out to Marshall, MO (home of Jim the Wonder Dog) to see my folks that night. On Friday, I drove it home to the Denver, CO area.

No sign of the stumbling or yo-yo. It handled very, very well. Took a while to get everything configured to my liking, mainly because I kept getting distracted by features I hadn't noticed before.

Oh, and I passed a car hauler that had a pepper white with black top MINI nestled up behind the cab. Hope it gets to somebody soon!

Well, all of the cars are off the Don Juan (NY delivery), and mine is heading to the dealer at this moment. I would expect the car will be ready by this weekend and am really excited. The only problem now is I have performance tires on the car and we are supposed to get a big snow storm on Thursday! RATS! Oh well, may have to wait it out for another few weeks.


Ordered MINI on 1st of Dec. and will arrive at dealer on 9th of Feb. Just over two months wait. Not bad.....
