As for MINI #2 (which is really MINI #3
)... It's currently "at the VDC" and so I'm hoping to have it real soon. I'll post some pictures of it just as soon as I get to see the car.

Our dealer just told us the car was on the 'Progress Ace' due at Port Hueneme*Feb 26* - anyone else? (West Coast).
Can't seem to track it at http://www.sailwx.info/

My money is on the OTELLO that left the same day my dealer said it left. He has no idea what ship it's on but that's what I'm guessing. Of course it had to make every stop possible on the east coast first before it gets to California. My MA said it's due in to port on the 24th but WW is showing it coming on the 27th, so anything is possible. I tracked the OTELLO coming accross the pond till it hit NY and now is off the radar scope. Evidently the ships voluntarily report to sailwx.com however the OTELLO has not since the 9th. So I'm basically lost at sea or coming through the Panama Canal if my calculations are correct.
My cabrio completed production on 1/13 and has not found its way to Port Hueneme yet. It was supposed to arrive on the 2/19 but just found out from my MA that it won't be getting in until 2/25. I thought it was on the Falstaff but that has come and gone so I don't know what ship it is on. Have any of you been notified of a delay in shipping?
Sounds fishy....My MCSC finished production on FEBRUARY3 and arrived at the dealer today! 18 days after production. I would be all over my MA and 866-ask-mini until I had some answers.
By the way, I came across something, somewhere mentioning "priority one status" which apparently zips you through the shipment process. If it were me, I would be demanding this right about now!

I was told a few hundred cars were left behind at the dock when the Falstaff came and went (which I was scheduled for) and the car is now on the "Progress Ace", call sign HPQI, which unfortunately isn't trackable via sailwx.
Well...this is the last post prior to picking-up our MCS. Early in the AM tomorrow we'll head to the airport and fly out to Mentor, Ohio to get it and start a two week trip back. I am told that it is warm and safe in the showroom now and waiting for me! Sounds good. I'll be taking pix and will get them posted as soon as we hit a computer.
Loki,
Not much info on the Progress Ace. It is a Mitsui OSK ship built in 2003 but that company doesn't give any route information. How do you know the MINIs aren't on the Otello? I don't know why Mini doesn't give the MA a little bit more info. When did the Progress Ace leave Southampton?

Loki,
I thought I recognized you from the S2K board. I had an S2000 for over four years and sold it about eight months ago. Ordered the MCSC about the same time from Rasmussen MINI in Oregon. The dealer in Tacoma wasn't even taking orders at that time and were quoting about 18 months for delivery. Shouldn't be too much longer.

I just talked to a rep at Ask Mini. Mine is also scheduled to land on 2/26. I was told by my MA that I should expect 3 weeks from ship arrival to processing to trucking to Denver. Seems excessive to me. Any insight?
Three weeks does not sound to bad. My car arrived in NY on Jan 26th two days in the VDC the dealer had it for four days and shipping has had it for two weeks going on three. My situation is different since I bought mine from a dealer in NY and had it shipped to California but I can easily see three weeks for you based on my experience. But I believe shipping takes some time. I believe it takes the time due to trucking or train schedules and the fact they want to ship a full load ( Mine sat in the shipping yard for 4 days)
. Then the train it was put on seemed to move very slow at first (almost backwards half of the time) and recently moved very quickly. I don't know if MINI ships by truck or train but either way seems to take some time.

sright,
I believe they use trucks. No matter. Like most people, after getting on the waiting list in June, ordering in December, having it built on 1/28, a few more weeks wont kill me
.
The folks at BMW/MINI are friggin' genuses. They have already built up interest in customers looking for validation that they aren't crazy for waiting months. And I am happy to join this group!
Cheers!!!

The Last couple of weeks is KILLER  to the point that friends and family avoid me so they don't have to hear about the MINI...thats what is so great about this board. We all share the same insanity.

The folks up at Rasmussen were great, even tho we were visiting and just wanted to go for a test drive on the '05s, they were completely accomodating. Too bad their waitlist is 10mos long!
She's here at last!
I got word this evening from my dealer (Mini of the Woodlands) that my MCS will arrive at the dealership tomorrow. Yee haw! I placed my order on New Year's Eve and didn't expect delivery until mid to late March.
Thanks to everyone for posting all the tracking info.
I had a blast keeping my family, friends and coworkers posted on my cooper's progress. I think everyone I know is sick of hearing about ship call signs, harbor webcams and shipping routes. Buying a car off the lot will never be half as fun.
I can't believe this crazy two year wait is almost over. My face hurts from grinning. I think this car is going to provide me with things to look forward to for years to come. I'm looking forward to getting through the break in period so I can try my hand at autocross. I'll then look forward to each performance upgrade and how it will effect my times.
If I were snoopy I'd do the happy dance.

Congratulations--got mine yesterday. When I walked into work this morning one of the girls in the office told me that I looked "happier than a puppy with two p*#@ers!"
Few things in life are worth waiting that long for. This is definately one of them!
