R50/53 **JAN 2005 build official tracking thread**
Also once your car is built it should take about a month if your on the east coast. It only took my 04' about 3 1/2 weeks from order to delivery.

What about the west coast? Anyone have an idea?
I have to come out to do some work on L.I. in March so maybe I could get it then...but I hope I dont have to wait unil march.

3rd Week Build
Just got off the phone with ASK MINI (live person
) and she confirmed that "GUS" will be built the third week of this month.
Here is what I ordered
Chili Red/White
Sport
Preimium
Conv
LSD
Tartan Red
Navigation
H/K
Chrome Interior
Anthracite top & bottom
Not sure of the dealer options at this time but looking at the Aero Kit w/clearguard or the Oricari kit, Checkered roof/mirrors
Anybody with a third week build have a VIN# yet?
Will the car be shipped to the east coast or the west coast for a delivery to Utah?

I called "ASK MINI" on Thursday the 6th. A person told me that my car had begun production on the 6th and it would be finished on the 15th. I ask, "how long does it take to update the OL," and he said no more then 72 hours. 48 hours later the OL now says "Scheduled For Production" and has a VIN. All the ordered equipment is listed and correct. Finally there's a MINI out there with my name on it.
Cooper S
CR/B
Black Leatherette
Chrome Line Interior
MFSW
Dsc
Front Fog Lamps
Interior Surface In Body Color
LSD
Rear Fog Lamps

Checked the OL today and it finally went to scheduled for production and I got a VIN! Called ASK-MINI and the automated voice told me my car is in production and will be completed on the 13th. WOO HOO! Now I just gotta get on the ball and sell my current one before I have to resort to just trading it in.
My car was to be done today...so I called ask-mini automated voice said it was in the paint shop and was scheduled for today to be finished. I dont know how they will get the paint to dry and get all the stuff in it in the next 24 hrs. Them guys in Oxford must work 7days a week
.
.
Best birthday present ever!
Just called ASK-Mini, and they said my new MCS was completed yesterday, one day earlier than the estimated date. The neat thing is, by finishing one day early, the car was completed on my birthday!
Talked with ASKMINI this morning, and although I still show up as "on order" with no production date, Oswald has a tentative build date of the week of January 24th! ASKMINI said to call back at the end of next week, and I may even have a VIN number!

According to the WW website, it will arrive in New York on the 21st or Baltimore on the 23rd. Not sure which port will deliver to PA.

Does anyone know how long it should take to get across the pond? I'm in Cincy, so it would be coming to the East Cost.
Does anyone know how long it should take to get across the pond? I'm in Cincy, so it would be coming to the East Cost.I'm from Cincy too - but alas, my 2-day old MCS lives with me in Chicago
(where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average, as Garrison Keillor is fond of saying). I've driven 100 miles and Oh, Man is my S ever dirrrrrty!Your MA has this really KEWL computer program, which gives MA's access to accurate, detailed, and TIMELY order-status info. He or she can tell you the name of the BOAT that's carrying your MINI, even
OK I'll answer your question first, and THEN tell a story, so you can skip on to other posts if ya want
.I was on a boat the week of Dec. 20th, (MINI spent xmas at-sea), and I motored home in "Patience" on January 10th.
I have been meaning to do this little timeline summary, so I might as well include it here:
Order placed 11/23/04 (after making a nuisance of myself lurking on NAM and loitering at my dealer's for a year). At that time, the dealer still had some December (week 50) cars available, so we reviewed my specs, and he signed me up for one of those.
"En Route to the port of exit": This was my status, which I seemed to stay at for a gosh darn long time (it's only 100km from Oxford to Southampton!!), from about 12/12 until 12/20. I got so flummoxed I phoned my MA and learned I was at the port, waiting to get on a boat.
"At the VPC": Car shows up down in Carolina, round about January 3rd. Another "long time" spent at this status
, or maybe it just seemed long.I think I was trucked from VPC to Chicago between the 6th and 9th.
drum roll.... "At Your Dealer": 1/10/05, MINIUSA Owner's Lounge got THIS one right, and on time too.
49 Days from order to motorin' . I remember posting to NAM when I first ordered. At THAT time, I wasn't expecting delivery here until end of January, and folks STILL thought that was very fast turnaround. I guess there are too many variables, such as where ya live and stuff, to expect any consistency in the length of the "order cycle" for MINIs.
Happy Waiting, it's worth it,
Tatt

Cross your fingers for good weather in three weeks!
BTW, did you check out River Downs? You can't get within 1/4 mile of the place due to the flooding. Hopefully the mud will be gone before your Evo school.

. I work right next to the Great Miami, and the other day on my way to work I got to drive my truck through a pond ~8" deep
. I couldn't tell the water was there until I was already in it b/c it was so dark and they hadn't put up any deep water signs yet. I'm just happy that it didn't happen in Bruno or our Evo. They don't have the kind of clearance that my big truck has.
3rd week build(NOT!)
Just got off the phone with an ASK-MINI person and got bad news that "GUS" is now going to be built the first week of February
. Was told last week he would be built the third week. I hope this isn't a trend starting? Anybody else getting bumped down the line?
Not a happy camper right now

Smooth...
I just called ask-mini. I'm still on for next week, but still no definitive date yet.. Sorry about your luck
Look at it this way, at least you won't have to fend off the snow!
Did they give you any reason for the bump??
