If your car is coming in on the East Coast:

I got the Booking number from the same WW website:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp
I clicked under "Cargo tracking" then "Auto cargo"
and put my VIN number in the slot and it came up with the Vessel name,
Booking and Voyage numbers.

Ugh! I may go postal this week! My car got to the dealer on Friday, but I want to get the JCW package installed before I pick it up. So they tell me I should be able to get it Thursday. Then today I get an email where my MA warns me that another car that is to get the JCW just came in and since it was prescheduled they have first dibs. Apparently though that car came in earlier than scheduled so my MA is trying to get mine put in first. I would understand if my car got bumped, but I have a 3 day weekend this week and I was really hoping to use it doing my break-in

delivery date question

The OL tracking info shows my car as being scheduled for delivery on the 15th. Does that mean it gets to the dealer that day, or that I should be able to pick it up that day? I know, you're thinking I should be calling the dealer, but I'm having some communication issues with them...

I talked to my MA today and he said that the ship had landed today, but my car hasn't been scanned in at the distribution center yet. He said he should know by the end of this week the date of transport to the dealer. Looks like the first week of March is the most likely date to pick up the MINI at the dealer.

Side note: I just looked at my old emails and realized that it has now been over a year since I began seriously looking at purchasing a MINI and will be 10 full months in production. This car better be great!

Minime05,

The M/V Aida docked in Port Hueneme today and unloaded a bunch of MINIs.
The M/V Falstaff is due on the 19th and has several hundred cars bound for the dealers on the west coast.

In my situation it meant that it arrived at the dealer that day. It was late in the day and was not ready for me yet so we had to wait a day.

is this a little strange?

So, the car did get to the dealer sometime at or before the 15th. It was in Newark, NJ on the 10th. They are now telling me that I can expect to pick it up sometime between the 23rd and 28th. Does this sound right? Should I be concerned?

a bit worried

I'm about an hour from the dealer, but I think I may just have to drive over there this weekend to check things out.

That does sound rather odd

I just picked up my Bruno. He got the JCW package installed and he's beautiful. I'm just giddy!

For West Coasters On The Centaurus Leader

Alright!

This morning the ASK-MINI automated voice finally updated to "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." Roughly translated (since I've been here twice before with two other 05 MINIs), that means that the car has now been off-loaded from the ship and is waiting to be checked into the VDC, or, it means that it has already been through the VDC and is waiting to get on a transport truck that will take it to the dealership (and most likely it's the later since at P.H. the cars are actually driven from the port to the VDC since it is so close - i.e. there's no need to use a transporter truck to haul them to the VDC from the port). Normally, ASK-MINI and the Owner's Lounge are a couple of days behind, so that means that we're now well on our way to getting our new cars. Very cool!

It's been a really loooong wait!

BTW, I believe that this is the very first ship docking in P.H. that is carrying MINIs with the 01/05 build changes (e.g. LSD, automatic MCS, etc.).

WOW! That custom leather looks totally AWESOME! It looks a lot like the black & gray leatherette only in real leather (or is that white? It's hard to tell from the photos). And the back seat looks really nice too. I like they way that they kept more of the black color than the factory does. Kudos to you.

BTW, did they tell you that there would be any problems with the new "advanced" airbags (on the 01/01/05 and later built MINIs) when having the front seats recovered?

Are they heated?

The light color is a light grey (ash) that matches the roof liner color, the dark (dark charcoal) matches the factory panels. There is also contrast stitching on the dark charcoal that matches the ash color.

The seats are heated, and they work great. The dealer indicated that the airbags would not be a problem. We have factory leather in our other MINI and this is as good and we could pick any color scheme we wanted.
