Iiiiiiiiiiiiits DOOOOOOONE ! I'm still going to give it another cut n buff or 2x until I have every Sq cm mirror finish but here's how it looks all together n stuff
I wanna make a new video of a good pull.. I launched like CRAP aaaaand I was short shifting... derderder I forgot id raised my rev limiter and OMG. That extra 500rpm really REALLY makes a big change on the PowerBand of my car.. it barks the tires very loud once I shift at 7500 ..
I was addressing a no ac issue last night abd ended up putting on my new belt and tensioner I'd had sitting around and I cleaned all the grooves of my pullies as I'd used belt conditioner in the past and it just caused more of a mess than anything and down the line caused my belt to slip once the gunk got built up in the pullies grooves..
Put in my parcel shelf thingy I'd bought from a fellow member. I made a back plate for it so nothing small could fall out the backside of it and also installed the craven shift well cover I've had sitting around forever. It really cleaned up the look inside getting rid of that ugly boot that never fit my stalk rite.
Also changed my fuel filter last week and omg it was black and coated. Thnxfully I ran my tank almost empty so it sucked up all the extra particulates and then I used a hand pump and turkey baster and more gas to get all the particulates and grime off the lowest parts of my tank because it was BAD. I also had ordered new bosche 550cc injectors just so I can say my whole fuel system has been overhauled. Nothing wrong with my old ones but these bosche injectors are spose to be a better brand so I'm curious if they will give it any benefits or if itle run just as good as it does now..
I also hyalsdipped my valve cover and i ended up trading a few old parts to a l9cal mini guy id just met for these milwaukee tools . He really hooked me up ! So ille add them to my milwaukee stash.
I got another shift light that runs off tach signal so I'm going to be attempting to install that very soon too..
Your fuel filter looks very different than most the MINI filters I see on NAM. Usually they are jet black (mine was black when I changed it at around 88k on the odometer). I think that's the first one I've seen that was green and flakey.
I love that valve cover too. I keep looking at hydro dipping. I've never done it but there are a bunch of applications that would be a whole lot easier than wrapping.

the gas forsure was black. I wonder if the greenish tint was from all the fuel system cleaner I put in when it was down to like 2gallons left.but yes,it was flaky ,like I could pick chunks of it off the filter. Or, I wonder if the color has something to do with the additives that are used in the gas in my area ???
anyways , the hydropdip stuff really is the way to go to make stuff look carbonfiber. The wrap is nice if you have that really thick strectchy 6d type material but as nice as it looks it's kinda difficult to work with though the results are great. The benefits though the hydropdip has is being able to be coated in a choice of type clearcoat. Like you can use a thick lacquer style clear and it really really adds realistic look to the hyrdodip.
Just drove up north 4 hours and the car drove absolutely amazing..
but befor I left id gotten this shiftlight in the mail..i completely forgot id ordered this thing because it took 2x months to get here.. it needs to run off a tach signal so i need to do sone research and find what wire i can tap to get the signal from..unfortunately I never could get that cool af other Bluetooth shiftlight to work in conjunction with my multi gauge so that's why I'd ordered this one in hopes I can wire it in like they do the jcw shiftlights..
anyways, here's a pic of it.o yea. I also ordered new bosche 550cc injectors and good pigtail adapters for them..
Sweeeeeet , this shift light is pretty cool. Doesn't sit as well or is as accurate as my Bluetooth one but its spot on when I hit redline and it flashes telling me to shift..I just wish it would begin the climb at even 1500rpm but doesn't begin until like 2500rpm unfortunately thooooooough I will attempt sone more adjusting with the low gain on it..
I just used black hot glue to hold it onto the steering column and ran the wiring under my gauges and behind tge steering column. I had to just run Power n ground which i already had sources ready and wires coming from them even. So all I had to do was tap into the obd2 port wire #9 ( red and white ) for the tachometer signal and BAM , finally got a shift light up n working .
If you look to the left of my tpms gauge in the auxiliary switch spot i installed a covered, lit switch to be able to turn on and off my electric waterpump for those times when I'm just moving the car back n forth or if I need to ignition on and not have my water pump run and run fir 2min after I key off EVERY TIME...
sooooooo yaaaaaaa.
Got back from a almost 600 mile round trip too and my dang ac is intermittent so I need to address that soon but I think i wanna hunt down a coolerworx shifter 1st...
Also i again, made an appearance at our local weekly car meet because as i drove past i spotted a pretty sweet Morris mini..
I buffed the car today with a sealer wax and yaaaaaaaa. That REALLY made it better.wow. just wow. I can't believe how good this at-home paintjob came out.
I've seen maco paintjobs and legit this is like 4x better. I know maco is nothing to brag about but theyre the all around average grade c quality paintjob , so its just a comparison.
anyways. . Check this sucka out !
Finally got a set of oem bosche 550cc injectors and installed them. Now the entire fuel system has been serviced. I wasn't having any issue with the old ones I just wanted new injectors since I'd done all that maintenance on the fuel system and from all I read about the bosche injectors, I wanted to try them out.. and my opinion is ??? Lol no better or no worse than the knock off Siemens they replaced. Afr and all is the same ect so what ever. I thiiiiiiiink the bosches do respond faster though , like when I go full throttle and then off the gas as they switch from rich to lean I swear my guages sweeps faster.
O well , it was mainly fir a piece of mind.. guess ille try n sell the 550cc injectors I removed for the bosches..
Shout out to drifthq.com for getting me this from over seas in under 2x weeks !!!!
stupid partsgeek thats located in Cali still hasn't gotten me my shift calves yet and they were ordered the SAME day..I know drifthq.com had them but I couldn't afford them when I placed my order and 2x hours later I made a sale and then bought the shifter cables rite away with that $$$$..
so soon as cables are here IN IT GOES !!!!!!!
haha he's our recent addition.hes into everythingand is my shadow, ive actuallybeen taking care of him since my neighbor took in his mom who was a stray that OF COURSEwas pregnant..
Felix the terror !
It's in..my buddy setup the linkage and stoppers while I put everything back together. So we did his sparkplugs on his r56 next and WOW are plugs stupid expensive for that car.geez. anyways..
8x hours and 2x days later it fully in , no issues ect. Strait forward install i just took my time so not to do anything 2x or overlook anything . Plus i trimmed N had to fogure out how to get it all back together with no rattling or play in the counsel around the shifter. Once the vanity plate arrive to cover that hole that will be the finishing touch for it.
opinion ! My old setup vs this mine was WAY smoother I don't like how notchy this is. Thats my only complaint, other than that i like everything else but if i had to choice to buy and install and have the coolerworx or have my old setup with a new bushing n stuff I'd rather have my old setup. Exp for 1/5 the price of this coolerworx I'd absolutely rather have my other setup. But o well , is what it is.
I also order a new passengers side axle, I installed a aux input rite into my glove box ille take a pic of tomorrow. That came out very very nice. I mounted it into the cover plate for the Bluetooth plug in in the glove box left corner. I also found and ordered a new shift selector lever so maybe that will make it less notchy but my shifter setup even with that as it is was smooth ,even with the bad bushing. It just had trouble locating 1st and 6th is i was throwing gears fast , it would wanna hit that notch in-between the 2x gears and not go I either gear. So I'm glad atleat I will ne er have to worry about a bushing again in my shifter..here's a few pics. Buddies r56 His old plugs New plugs ( expensive new plugs )
I met a few fellow nam members at a British car festival this morning and was pressured to enter my car AND I WON BEST IN SHOW !!!!! lol unreal , imo EVERY lotus was 10x sweeter than my car but I guess my modifications for once got some recognition... I was given my choice then of a price and decided with a grab bag..
that's my 6ft10 300lb brother fitting comfortably in a lotus but he had a FAR more roomy/comfortable ride in my mini.
what a beatiful beautiful car show it was. 70 degree day , sunny and very scenic spot and an awesome welcoming crowd of people.... I look forward to going next year !
I went to replace my axle and once out knowticed I was sent tge wrong one. So I put the 2x together and reinstalled but rite after I got done cleaning up and was about to go on a test drive I decided to put the other 2x axle pieces together and omg they didn't fit , my old axle ends bearings were too large to fit into the input shaft on the new one so that meant the one I assembled would of had too much play internally. So I went under my car and by hand I could make the axle make little bit of noise so if I could , driving COULDA caused some serious serious damage had I broke that axle into 2x which is probably what would have happened. So I tracked down the correct, exact axle I need and ordered it again.
so while I waiting I took out my seats completely and began cutting and making templates until I get it exactly how I want it to fit and im going to be making a rear seat delete WITH opening under compartment storage and battery access. Idk if im going to just leave it plastic because that'd what I'm going to use , I'm gonna find a big sheet and cut it to what I need and make under bracing and stuff too to strengthen and support it so it sits flush all way up.i might leave it black plastic if it looks nice enough or ille carbonfiber 3m wrap then clearcoat over it OR I miiiiiiiiiiiiight carpet it but idk if I can't find similar carpet or anything though that would be ideal.
I also got an ac compressor from a member at the car show I'd went to so that will be going in soon to along with new pressure switch. I might as well order a new dryer too.
I also got and installed my coolerworx shiftwell cover to complete that install...
