Can I put OEM Xenon Lights on My Halogen Equipped R53?
Can I put OEM Xenon Lights on My Halogen Equipped R53?
My 06 R53 unfortunately has the halogen headlights. I really like the OEM 05-06 Xenon headlights and was wondering if swapping them out would be a plug and play ordeal?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Lots of work and you dont have the level sensors. The best thing would be to do this if you want to OEM style look:

Oh it's not just a plug and play deal? =( Are there any DIY articles? I tried searching but didn't find any...
No, you have headlight washers and other things that did not come factory with halogen, much easier to do the DIY above.

Yes you actually can as we have done it several times on R53s including my own personal GP as it didn't come with Xenons. But you have to recode the car to make them work.
No need to worry about the washers as they don't do anything but splash water all over your hood.
For the level sensors we just adjusted the lights properly and slightly down and have no issues.

I have a r53 and got a new hood that has the xenon in them can you help..how and what do I need to do? Thanks

You could go back to aftermarket projectors. Just have to disconnect the washer system and the plugs past the ballast are the same as the halogen/Xenon. https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2005-...s/US_Spec_Set/

cause any dummy lights or codes ?
Nope, its a simple system. This is before the systems require canbus and the LKM was more advanced.

IF your MINI came factory with Xenon, one can switch to halogen....but not visa-versa....sorry. Between parts, labor and coding you may as just as well go out and purchase a R53 with Xenon.
o wait until I get my new headlights and sell off my xenon units and ballasts for cheap.. can't inpa fix the coding ??
