Base Cooper fuel door for purple haze metallic car!

Hello all, this is my first post so please forgive me if I'm in the wrong place. It's all so overwhelming. I had a question. I have a 2005 r53 in purple haze and I would like to swap a base Cooper fuel door to it. I don't care for the chrome style ones on the s (I think it looks tacky lol). Did the USA get base Cooper's in purple haze? I have not seen one at all. I would like an oem one because the paint that gets mixed for me always seems to be different. If anything I can just get a black one for now and paint it another time. Any insight would be much appreciated!

I don't like chrome either. I removed my chrome door and took it to my local powder coat shop and they coated it black. Super happy with the look.

Yes R50s came in purple haze/BEP. They are rare but when they came out in ~2005 I saw a bunch of R50's in that color. Not so many now.

I dont think you can buy pre painted ones anymore, and in any case a new one likely wouldnt match anyway due to fading of the original paint over time.

There is info here on how to do the swap:

Vinyl wrap? Seems a decent option under the circumstances.

Nope, no prepainted. MINI killed off a lot of the pre painted body kit.

Thanks all for the replies! I just wanna say, mini people seem to be really nice and helpful. I get there are always a few negative Nancys but overall I'm delighted with people's attitudes! I'll probably just find a base door and all the hardware and swap it over for now. Maybe eventually I can get it painted correctly!

You should also be able to use a purple haze gas door from a cabrio. Both the regular and S cabs have painted covers.
