Best Chip or flash tune for 03 mini Cooper s

Before I spend my money I wanted some opinions. What works best? Looking for hp gain with torque gain and when I want to drive it right better gas mileage.
Appreciate the help

Only chips in the Gen1 is the bag you buy at the grocery store/quick stop. You would need somebody to reprogram the ECU.

In most opinions here the two cheapest mods are 1.) a smaller supercharger pulley and 2.) a stiffer rear swaybar. The first depending on size can get you another 5 psi , or more, of boost and the rule of thumb is that for every 15 additional pounds of boost you double your horsepower. The second will take out some of the understeer.

Use at your own risk, there have been other generic flash tunes available in the past, and every one of them has gone by the wayside for either doing nothing, or doing the wrong thing and damaging engines.

Your best option is either a custom remote tune from ByteTronik or RMW, if not those, get a custom canned time from Way, all of these options are much safer.

Don't buy tuning unless your mods warrant tuning.

Injectors over 380's or an aggressive cam = ecu tune. Other that that, the ecu is pretty good at addressing other mods such as CAI or a pulley change.

We do custom tuning and offer basic tunes. But before you consider that we recommend getting the mods you want to do first. Then use the tune to take advantage of them. The car will be tuned for how it is when you tune it, changing mods after that would warrant retuning it.

Taking into account your comment is it necessary to flash the ECU when changing to a 17% pulley, Airtec IC, and cooler plugs? I am looking at changing the air intake as well.

No tuning is required for those mods.

no though a tune would help.. there lots of tuning options like canned tunes through vendors or a custom tune via a member if you pm him him , adriancl , he can give you more details. Through him its about 220-250 with cost of tuning hardware and everything AND imo he's THE BEST !

Without any doubts, -17% SC pulley need a tune.Without tune engine will run lean at high rev.Maximum Fuel amount at WOT is calculated for stock pulley. If you introduce more air into the cylinders,ECU can't inject more fuel than is written in fuel map.
On the other hand , more mixture amount need different spark advance maps.Of course is not about to tune only fuel table and spark table.must rework the axis of the fuel and spark table, due to high boost pressure. And also few other modifications on the tables.

65C10 -

Check where you live..! Verify before...you do anything.
MANY states will HEAVILLY frown on modified ECU's / ECM's ! You won't like the outcome.
