Supercharger shaft length / specs?

Anyone know the shaft length for the supercharger? From the base to the tip? I'm trying to find out if my shaft was pulled out or not. My pulley is sticking out by one tooth but almost positive it is installed on the base of the shaft correctly.

You might be able to find some specs in one of our tech articles here. If not, you can give us a call and speak with a specialist that might be able to further assist you.

Bumping an old thread as mine seems to have done the same. Is it possible for the shaft to pull out?

Yes it is possible. Me and a buddy ended up trying to tap it back in to spec length with a mallet, but didn't fix the whining. It was pretty much shot at that point. Dealership ended up replacing the supercharger under carmax warranty.

I’m curious, what causes the shaft to slide out?

For my instance, it was a poor pulley install. Prying out the pulley resulted with the shaft getting pulled as well. I didn't notice until I was ripping the serpentine belt. That is the only instance i know of for the shaft to come out like that.

Update: mine was just ever so slightly pulled out. I followed what daredeezy did. I very gently tapped the shaft in. And then with the pulley on, I threaded a bolt into the middle of
the shaft to pull the shaft back out and at the same time pull the pulley in closer to the right alignment.I then Installed the belt, and everything is ok. No noise, tapping, grinding etc. I guess the shaft can pull out.

thanks again and thank Daredeezy.
