R50/53 Pepper White with White Roof?
We're about to order our 2004 Cooper S, but from MINIUSA.com, I found out that Pepper White MINIs come with either a black or body colored roof. Personally, I'd prefer Pepper White with the regular, brighter white roof... like the Cooper in the Italian Job. Is there a way to custom order?
Thanks,
Michael

I have a two friends with PW/PW...both w/ sunroofs. (...one JCW MCS and one Cooper) They look fantastic patricularly w/ tints. IMHO, forget the white roof...forever. Regardless of what the model has PW/PW is the only way to go. Get an aero kit and sunroof and it will look just like an IJ car...rest assured.

I have an all Pepper White and I think it looks great........I was not big on the black roof for some reason.
I would reconsider the white rims unless you like the look of black brake dust....

PW with a plain white roof looks ugly IMO. If you want a white roof, your only option is to have the roof repainted aftermarket.
Much prefer PW/Black and if you have to have PW/PW, then the sunroof brakes up the contrast nicely.

Cooool! another excuse (reason, i mean) to watch Italian Job again, to "double check"
Pepper white = can't get a white roof - disclaimer: as far as i know, from the local MA's and the MINI Configurator and this website and other (more dubious less credible) sources...
Choosing colors (which i'm still anguishing over) I too wanted to see a PW/W, but alas...

No, I'm pretty sure its PW/W. Here's the model

In other words, most Italian Job MINIs (pics and models) are wrong. The movie MINI was PW/PW.
The Italian Job MINI was most definitely NOT PW/PW.
The roof was PURE WHITE, while the body was indeed Pepper White.
This MINI (several, actually) was specially made for the movie, hence the "unconventional" color combo.
The color difference can be seen very clearly in the movie, and even more clearly in the "making of" documentary where the actors are seen learning how to drive the cars on the track. The stark color difference between the roof and the body is undeniable, as is the fact that all three MINIs' roofs are an identical shade when viewed side by side(Not pepper white).
I too was interested in a PW/W MINI after seeing the Italian Job, and was told by a MINI Corporate rep that the IJ MINI was in fact a custom configuration designed to evoke the white Mini from the original movie, and that it would not be available as an option.

I dont know, seen in movie fro a few minutes versus living with it. PW/W is like wearing off white pants and a white shirt, I would think. But hey whatever you get has to please you and NO ONE ELSE. Get what you want, however it takes otherwise you will be compromising your dream.
