R50/53 May 2004 Build...anyone else? Wanna track each other's prog
I am a mid to late may build, my #is 38220##
I think that it is a code system. the first number = the modle year code, second month, third has to do with the week and the others are the order in production for that week. Thus, they would not use all the numbers.
I am just making all this up though.

You guys are bad for business. I'm not getting any work done either. I have to keep checking web sites to see if there is any new info. I'm like some mini junkie who's got to have his fix. I just hope that my mini (still un-named) comes early and isn't delayed. I will definitely be checking Atlantic and Pacific ocean weather charts while my mini is out to sea. Until then I'll just have to keep driving my little old beater pick up.
Cheers, Get back to work!

>>Still trying to decide on names for our IB/W MCS--but I think Pigwidgeon is the current favorite. There seem to be several Harry Potter fans here--maybe we're all Anglophiles  .

Oh yes, the very moment I saw Dobby in HP&TCS start hitting himself in the head and yelling "Bad Dobby. Bad! Bad! Bad!" I fell in love with that little guy. He's little. He's English. And when he's free, he packs a PUNCH!
winechic - I BET YOU'RE ON TO SOMETHING THERE! 'Cause like Mark said, they couldn't have made 200,000 MINIs in a month. I like your system, and I bet you're on to something!
MARK!!!! You set sail today!!! Congratulations! Please remind me if you've named him/her? Do you have the AIDA call sign and all that? Although, I tried to read that oceanagraphic map? Ay yay yay!
Looked like mushy alphabet soup to me...

>>Still waiting to see if the ship has made it to Southampton! Sail, baby, sail! I want my car on there! I had forgotten about tracking the ship...well there goes another hour of work
Have you been able to find the callsign to the boat? I'm not finding it. The Observations page on oceanweather doesn't have any of the callsigns from the coast guard site.

Has anyone called today? I'm afraid to. I'm afraid I'll still get the 112. I want the 150!
But if anyone's called today (customer service - I think ASK MINI is slow, too), then please report! Good or bad.

>>Maybe it's docked and that's why it's not on the map. I thought that, too.
Your cars could be being loaded up at this VERY moment. Isn't that exciting?

Hopefully I won't get unloaded and waitlisted.
Only 6 at "RECEIVED AT TERMINAL" out of 245. Maybe this means the boat will leave soon
Haven't they invented teleportation yet????

Are we all going to be taken to the funny farm before our MINIs arrive?
My Production Number is 38221xx... According to ask MINI it is starting production today, but tracking still shows it as "On Order". I understand that the online tracking "is for entertainment only" and is sometimes a few days behind actual status. "is for Torture only" would be more accurate.

>>Ok, so has MINI Lounge or ASKMINI anything changed for any Week 18ers?
>>
>>Still Week 19 - and just for the heck of it, I decided to add the auto wipers and the auto dimming mirror. It's only $150, and it will let me know if my car is any closer to production. It accepted the change, so nope. Still not close. &*$&^#&$^%!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WannaMini,
I read this on page 2 (of 4), so you may well have posted other pleas since this one, but since I am a week 18, I thought I would share with you what I know. On Friday last, Kaboom! the Owners Lounge suddenly showed "Scheduled for Production." By Monday Ask-Mini said the car was in the paint shop. This morning, Wednesday, Ask-Mini said she was in Southhampton. According to WW, she hasn't been booked for shipping yet. When she leaves, she will be headed fro Charleston.
Your car may well be being built at this very moment!

Heads up y'all! Just got an email from my MA telling me that my car commenced production TODAY and should be done by next Tuesday. He said to allow at least four weeks for boat, prep center and truck time.
Soooooo....don't know if that means I've been bumped up or if week 19 starts, like, now.
Woo-hoo....just gotta unload this Golf in the next coupla weeks...

Did you actually speak to a customer rep, or did you use the automated feature? Is yours an MC or MCS?
CONGRATS! I can't wait to hear those beautiful words...maybe I'll call today. But I'm scared!

OL shows Awaiting Transport this morning (Thursday), so obviously that site is not updated only on Fridays. Ask-MINI told me yesterday that she was at the dock. WW showed no information yesterday but this morning lists the name of the ship. She's coming on the Patriot, which is not scheduled to leave until May 11. Fortunately, though, that's one that makes the voyage in 11 days, as opposed to 13. She's due in on the 22nd, which is a Saturday. Maybe we will go down to see her unloaded.
Once she reaches her hometown, she will have to have her windows and ClearShield installed. I just know I won't be able to bring her home until June.
I can't believe what his car has done to me: I care NOTHING about cars (other than Minis).
