Ordered my IB/W MCS april 3rd. It finished production and is in the paint shop today, the 19th.

Anyone know how long it takes to cross the ocean? I was told to expect late may/early june. Once the car is built does it really take over a month to get to the east coast?

i'm going crazy, I drove 600miles last week just to play around with my brother's CR/W Cooper. I'm going nuts!

How do you find out about which week build you are from Ask Mini? Do you have to talk to a live person or do they tell you when the set date for production is determined. All mine says is that it is schedueled with no set date.

Does miniusa tell you anything more than on order, until it goes into production?

I have long wait, I think I will be a late May build.

My car is in the paint shop with yours! My dealer(MINI Peabody in MA) says I should have it mid-May.

hell yah!! Does anyone know where the boats dock? NYC maybe? Chesapeake area? If so, mine will prob show up before yours because of shorter land shipping distance. Per my other post I won't give the name of my dealer as I know the guys there all drive MINIs and may be on this board. Haha, we're boat brothers!

Boats dock in either New York, or Charleston, SC. More detailed info on tracking here:

jefe - do you know how LUCKY you are??? You have one of the SHORTEST waits that I have ever heard of. Consider yourself EXTREMELY lucky. In fact, I'm a bit jealous.

winechic - yes, talk to customer service when you call ASK MINI. They are very very nice and will tell you which week you are slated for.

yah I do. I got really lucky, put down my deposit and the dealership was able to modify a car they already had in the works. I guess I got to it right before it was scheduled to go into production, good timing.

Don't be jealous, I'm most likely going to be screwed when it comes down to final pricing.

I'm jealous of everyone who'd ordered from Classic, I wish I did. hindsight eh

EDIT:: ok, be jealous. I just called ASK-MINI and found out that they haven't updated the automated system for some reason, my MINI is actually at Southampton already and waiting to get on the boat!! Thats a total of 18 days from deposit to awaiting transport.

Well, I wish I could be hopeful, but nope - I spoke with a live person yesterday, and they said nothing has changed. Still week 19. I'm just crying at this point.

BUT! In good news, my AutoArt CR/W model should be coming tonight! YIPPEE! AND, I got the paint and everything I need from the auto paint store. The paints and everything to go along with it cost more than the car.

My dad, who is an artist and into hobbies and everything is going to paint it with me. There WILL be some challenges though...

The shipping company's website (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) rules!

I found out that my car made it to the port in Southamption and is set to sail on the AIDA from 4/28 through 5/6

Me too, we're on the same boat. Well, our cars are at least.

If everything goes quickly, which I'm not counting on, I could potentially pick up the car exactly one month plus 5 days from the date I ordered her.

Thats assuming everything moves along quickly at the VPC and that there are no unforeseen storms/winds that keep the boat at sea any longer than necessary.

I wish Dobby was on the same ship with you. Dobby still has yet to enter production even. I think they lost my order.

I had to schedule an extra session with my psychiatrist to discuss the voices I'm hearing in my head, "Your vehicle is scheduled for production, with NO PRODUCTION DATE YET." It's been A MONTH since I ordered. FOUR WEEKS. And nothing. Not even a bone to throw me. I'll just go home and tink tink with my model.

BUT, you guys, I wish the AIDA calm seas and a safe trip.

Ah yes - those two words. On Order. I was at least a little hopeful this morning as I've heard a rumor the OL updates on Fridays. So I was anxious and scared to look at it this morning. Sure enough, On Order. That's all it's ever going to say.

Mark, thanks for the encouragement! So the Aida sets sail on Wednesday. What is this wait like? Is it just as intense?

The owners loung for me is only about a day behind. How's it working for the rest of us?

The OL has been about a day behind for me too.

I just checked the shipping co. site. If you search by the booking number, you can see that there are 80 MINIs so far!

WanaMINI, the waiting actually gets a bit easier as you go, becuase the dates are better defined. For instance, if the schedule stays, I know my MINI will be sailing from 4/28-5/6. Since I'm near the VDC, the dealer says we should get the car a week or so after that.

So I am going to have a few days to drive before I go to the UK for 2 weeks

Mark,

Two questions. When I lookup the booking number I get 175 VINs. Are they all Minis or are some of them BMW. I imagine there is a manufacturer's code at the beginning of the VIN, not sure what to be looking for.

Also, Did you get your completion date from a Customer Service rep, or was that the estimate completion date from Askmini.

Hmm...it still shows 80 VINs for me. Not sure what is up there. They all with the same letters, so I assume they are MINIs?

The automated system said my car was in the paint shop on 4/19, so on 4/20 I spoke to customer service in person and they told me the car was done and waiting at the factory for a truck to take it to port. So I consider 4/20 his birthdate

Ok, so has MINI Lounge or ASKMINI anything changed for any Week 18ers?

Still Week 19 - and just for the heck of it, I decided to add the auto wipers and the auto dimming mirror. It's only $150, and it will let me know if my car is any closer to production. It accepted the change, so nope. Still not close. &*$&^#&$^%!!!!!!!!!!!!!
