R50/53 Total miles your MINI has right now
New valeo single-mass setup and TOB tube last week at 122500. Although plenty worn, the disc/pp was still grippy. Problem was the dual mass flywheel was slipping at the rubber; the clutch feel was as bad as you would imagine it would be with a shifting flywheel.
Glad i got it done.

I like hearing these stories… At 110k, I am hoping we have a little while yet we have to swap out the clutch on the Mini. Even the Minis that hit 200k miles on a clutch is pretty remarkable.

My '04 R50s clutch went at about 130k, stranded the wife on an offramp
My buddy's '03 R53s clutch went at 143k, left HIS wife stranded
I could have likely got a few more miles out of mine, but it was coming apart, and getting stuck somewhere in never "convenient"

Yea, I babied the clutch and it was the throw out bearing that was the straw that broke the camels back, otherwise i could have went further.

U have a bit of time, i'd say:
My '04 R50s clutch went at about 130k, stranded the wife on an offramp
My buddy's '03 R53s clutch went at 143k, left HIS wife stranded
I could have likely got a few more miles out of mine, but it was coming apart, and getting stuck somewhere in never "convenient"

I hear ya! Thank you for the mileage markers. If you know it might be coming, then time to swap it out so you are not dead in the water.
Good to know. I am impressed with how long these clutches are lasting. I had my flywheel swapped out at 19,619 miles (April-06) as there was a recall on the flywheel back in the day and the only item I experienced was the “chatter” while at idle. Need to check my paperwork to see if the T/O Bearing was replaced as well when they removed the clutch disc to reach the flywheel. Hmmmmm Maybe I will get some additional carryforward miles. hehe
lol, when i saw that pic

I test drove an '04 last weekend with 56k on it, hoping to add another R53 to the garage. Ouch - that clutch was HORRIBLE. And here I was thinking all you people replacing clutches were whack-o's (goofing, obviously) when the one in my '05 was still going strong when I replaced it at 205k (throw-out bearing making lots of noise at that time, some slippage at rallycrosses but none on the street).
I no longer think you guys are whack-o's.
Any difference with the clutch/hydraulics on the '02-'04 cars? Are they more prone to having issues?
