Is there difference between left and right strut top?

My right hand side strut is cracked. I brought an OEM but I saw there is a "L" at the end of the part no. I wonder is there difference between left and right? Am I brought a wrong one?

Usually but not *always*, the left tor right hand parts are variation part numbers or the physical part is marked.

RealOEM isn't listing part numbers but doesn't graphically make any distinction, have you compared it to the strut that is coming off?

Yes

There is definitely a difference from right to left. Right and left are mirror images of each other.

I believe that both are identical. The bearing on the stock plates is located in the center so the camber would be the same left to right. If you were installing an aftermarket camber plate like the Ireland fixed plates there is definately a right and left even though you could very easily install them on either side. That is because the bearing is intentionally set offset to give you added negative camber.
Just a side note: The Ireland fixed plates are a lot beefier than stock. Not only will they help to prevent mushrooming but the bearing carrier is from a Z4 BMW (a lot heavier car) and I have not heard of one of them failing. You would also get the benefit of a little extra negative camber in the front all with the same or better NVH.

Thanks a lot.
I also found that there is no selection for left or right in online store for this item.

I asked Ireland, Sinec I live in HongKong, they quoted costs+shippment 180+90=$270. I brought the oem part in local shop only US$32 for one.

Anyone know which online shop is lower cost and will do surface shippment for Ireland fixed plate?

If you receive MC2 magazine you will see Ireland adds towards the back of the magazine and if you tell them that you will receive an additional discount.
TSW is also a dealer for Ireland and they are great people to work with. They may be able to help in your shipping conserns.
