Sounds like it might be time to call The Exorcist!!

I have NO idea. You are getting pressure into your cooling system somehow. How did you smash your intercooler?

A bad head gasket will do it! Pressure from one of the cylinders leaks into the cooling system and forces all of the coolant out. But if it's brown, you might want to change your coolant more often.

WOW! A little bit of fuel and maybe oil could get into the cooling system but not enough to turn it brown, I wouldn't think. The other possibility is that the block is cracked - I hope not for your sake - and is allowing engine oil to contaminate the coolant.

Do you have water in the crank case? If so, that could be a clue as to what will need attention.

In any case, that sucks!

FWIW, my old CRX says that a leaky head gasket can let enough oil get into the coolant to create a lovely (not) light brown sludge in the radiator. Continued on for months, with no transfer of coolant into the oil.

Not sure what is causing the overflow but MINI coolant does turn brown with age. Could someone have overfilled it when the car was cold?
