There are adjustment screws on the light housing. I forget where on the housing they are, but you will find them. You'll have to get at them with the hood open. It will move the entire assembly, high and low beams.

Me too. Same problem. If the lows were a few inches higher, they'd be OK.

Similar problem here--low beams seem ok; high beams seem more like driving/fog lights. I have always felt the bright should light up the night. Please let me know how to adjust the lights when you figure it out.

This seems opposite my problem. My brights are great. Wish the low beams illuminated like them. I can't imagine how the highs can act like fog lights while the low beams are OK.

My goal is to get the light horizon of the low beams to go out farther. They're plenty bright, but they curtain off too close.

They light up the road immediately in front of the car and do little futher out--I can't understand it either. At first I thought high beams could be adjusted independent from the low beams. Maybe I'll just adjust the lights up and see (no pun) what that gets me.

I did a quick scan of the light housing under the bonnet. Didn't immediately see the adjusting screws. Does anyone have a pic?

If you have the Xenon's then they are self-leveling and adjust themselves with speed, the faster you go the more they rise up.

Uh, no, I don't think this is true. They DO self level to accomodate vehicle loading (if you have back seat passengers, it adjusts them down, otherwise they'd be too high). It does this using suspension sensors.

Sorry, couldn't find the pics... but here's another thread with more details:

Right. Then, let's say I want to calibrate them.

Nicely stated, "calibrate". On my '06 MCS with xenons, the adjusting screws are actually bolts with hex shapes and flat-blade screw ends, on the back top right and left of the headlight housing. The cutoff is really sharp, be careful you're not blinding oncoming drivers.

Side comment: A set of fogs is nice because it gives a bit more beam scatter, which can light up the reflective signs etc. a little better (insert smart comments about running with fogs on all the time here). I find the xenons do blind the folks I'm passing a bit, due to the higher beam on the passenger side, but no problems from oncoming traffic.

Here ya go, pic of adjusting screws:

DixonL2, thanks for the pic. I'll be looking at my 08 to see if I can find the same set-up.

As to blinding oncoming traffic, my wife says if I touch the lamps, she wants to test them by driving towards me on our street. If I have gone too far, she won't let me out of the neighborhood. So much for using the garage door at 25'.

So, which screw does what? I tried one but it didn't seem to do anything. Before I go wasting any more time, I figured I'd ask.

Thanks.

Pretty sure the inner screws are height, the outer screws are left-right adjustment (leave those alone).

Park on a level surface facing a wall, measure on the wall (use a yardstick), turn screw 2 full turns, measure again. Be sure the measurement to the top of the cutoff is lower than the middle of the projector beam lens - I think there are measurements on www.rallylights.com. Adjusting Mini headlights isn't fun and can be blinding... sorry!
