R50/53 Can't Wait for September Club--time to check in!!!
Is anyone else having pre-MINI anxiety? i do tend to be worrisome and as my car is a mere couple of weeks away from me i find myself wondering if i've made the right choice. This is going to be my only ride and i drive a lot. And i'm going to be investing a lot of money in it, and won't be able to afford another car for quite a long time. All of the good things i've heard outweighed the negative problems MINI's seem plagued with. And, i'm really hoping to be one of the lucky ones.
i've had two cars in the past two years, both with chronic problems. i guess i do not learn. Though, thought if i start new i'd have a better chance.
Ugh.....
Excited but nervous as all heck......

I was able to track it off the coast of Newfoundland...using the instructions on the first page of this thread.

I need some reassurance or to be told I am just getting neurotic. Mine was also produced on 8/8 and I tracked it as being loaded onto the Jingu Maru. However, the MINIUSA site still has it as "awaiting transport". On another thread I reassured someone a number of days ago that they are just slow updating and mine still says the same on that site. Now that it is South of Newfoundland and they still haven't changed it...well, you all get the picture.
Is anyone elses' that the shipper reports having loaded onboard still getting that it is "awaiting transport" on the other site???

inioway--of course!
Mine is awaiting transport. But it is also on the Jingu Maru, which is now at Lat +44.7, Long -53.9.
To give you a sense of destination, the New York port is somewhere around +40.6 and -73.0.
MINIUSA's owner lounge is so far behind I think they define "awaiting transport" as waiting for a car hauler at the New York (or other USA) docks!!!
It is getting close; I can almost smell the spacecloth!!! (btw, does anyone know if spacecloth smells?)

Mine also still says Awaiting Transport but is on the Jingu Maru. I to would like to know if space cloth smells. When looking at the dealer I noticed that the MINIs I sat in and test drove did not have the same new care smell that most other new cars have. I am hoping that it was just limited to those MINIs. I love that new car smell.
Now the Jingu Maru is south of the Easternmost tip of Cape Breton Island (the island at the Eastern side of Nova Scotia). Motor on!
p.s. If you use the Maptech MapServer, make sure you enlarge the map after it loads. It is much easier to read. And remember, the "West" longitude coordinate must be entered as a negative number.

Arrrgh! My 8/15 build was just completed on 8/19 and booked to sail on the Tokyo Highway departing Southampton 8/29 -- 10 days later!! I can't take this waiting any longer. But I think I will still just barely qualify for the September club if all goes on schedule from here.
Anyone else on Tokyo Highway? My port is Charleston but it will stop in New York first.

Great news for some--the Jingu Maru has dropped off the AccuWeather tracking screen, but the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site now shows it arriving in New York on AUGUST 22--one day ahead of schedule. At this point the Charleston, South Carolina arrival is still scheduled for August 25.
The MINIUSA owner's lounge has been updated--mine finally reads "en route". The estimated delivery date is 8/29, though MCOers on other threads (e.g., Can't wait for August) indicate that these dates are notoriously unreliable. Many folks wait a week or two beyond these estimates.

Its ALIVE!!! My 8/22 build mini is actually a mini now and has arrived at the terminal to be loaded to the Tokyo Highway! And as everyone knows the waiting continues. But at least I know it has taken its first breaths.

Great news! Perhaps you can be responsible for keeping folks up on the progress of the Tokyo Highway...You'll need to find pictures and track the path using the AccuWeather site...

>>I'm on the Tokyo Highway as well. Any chance this puppy pulls out BEFORE 08/29? I have been looking for a picture of the ship but with no luck.

>>War Tokyo Highway. I'm out.

Nothing a few minutes of searching couldn't cure...Here is a pic of the Tokyo Highway...Click here to see the TOKYO HIGHWAY

Thanks for the pic, Deli. That is one huge boat. Anyone know what one of those looks like inside? Do you think it's all cars, like a 10-story parking garage with 10,000 cars, or does it have mixed cargo? I wonder how many MINIs would fit on one.
I guess I got lucky. I just put a deposit down on a CR/wht MCS with aero kit (italian job look a like) that the dealer had already on the boat. Should be in my hands the beginning of Sept.
CAN'T WAIT FOR SEPTEMBER
CAN'T WAIT FOR SEPTEMBER
RCD...that is lucky!
Keep your eyes on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site. It is very possible that the ship will end up leaving a day early--the Jingu Maru departed one day before originally scheduled and is arriving two days before originally scheduled. Don't know if this is normal, i.e. perhaps they build time in for bad weather and move the schedule up if it is clear. It may also depend on whether they are pretty "full".

Hey guys, yep I'm a virgin...Urrrr Uhhh I mean this is my first post here.
I could keep silent no more - my little buddy (BRG/W '03 MC, sport pkg, fogs, xenons) just showed up at the South Hampton port waiting to roll onto the Tokyo Highway!
fyi - booking number for this cruise is GBSOU133238

The Jingu Maru arrived in New York yesterday (8/21); departs for Charleston today(8/22). There is no way it will take three days for the trip to SC. So get ready, the cars are arriving early.
Are you waiting for the JM to hit Charleston? If so, try out this website:
Charleston "At the Port"
Look for the link "At the Port" on the bottom of the website page.
Overnight the MINIUSA owners lounge bumped my estimated arrival date up from 8/29 to 8/27. Anyone else see this happen?
I will still be astounded if my delivery is before the end of August.

My MCS is on the Prestige Ace, west coast cars. Where is the Jingu Maru's port of destination?
