R50/53 Can't Wait for September Club--time to check in!!!
Maybe it is just me, but whenever I enter the Tokyo Highway's call sign (3EDF9) into the Accuweather buoy observation page, I get the following error:
*** Illegal Item 3EDF9. Ignored ***
*** Please Wait, Data is Being Processed ***
*** No Data Available for 18z29 ***
*** No Data Available for 21z29 ***
Anybody else see this? Maybe I'm doing something wrong... That's the same message I've always gotten trying to track the Tokyo Highway on previous voyages as well.

Hello, new user here.... I have a MCS on the Tokyo Highway too! The Owners lounge has show "awaiting transport for over 2 weeks. My patience is wearing. No one at ask mini could help me. Until I read the links on this page I was lost. Anyway, does anyone know how long it takes to go through the Dist. center? I live in St. Louis and am trying to find out when I should get it?
Thanks...

Welcome to MCO!
To give you an idea, the Jingu Maru unloaded in NYC on Aug 21. My car arrived at the dealer on Aug 28. But the dealer is in Philly; St. Louis would take longer. Also, there was a real push to get cars to dealers quickly (so they could be delivered by the end of August). I would not be surprised if you could see it taking up to two weeks from docking to delivery.
Don't worry about the lack of information; use the time as an opportunity to clean the garage, detail the old car, etc.
Tell us about your car!

Thank for the reply, 2 weeks....ouch....my old car is down again I was hoping it wouldn't be much longer. It just left dock yesterday....so....it will be at least 3 but could be up to 4 weeks before I am taking it home. I ordered it on 7/15. It's a Electric Blue MCS loaded with everything except Nav. Do you know what it has to go through at the DC...or...how to track it from there? Thanks again.....KR

Noone seems to be much help once they get to the docks here. The distribution center runs some checks; it is not that lengthy. Your dealer may have the most up-to-date info on where the car is. 866-ASKMINI is only good until it gets to the shore, then once unloaded they stop tracking it and refer you to your dealer.
Your wait is not bad; I placed my order the first week of March and took delivery today--one week earlier than the 6-months I expected...
p.s. I got the car today but the website says it is still at the distribution center. Shhhh! Don't tell them...

Hey kevruss, as I've already posted, I'm on the Tokyo Highway as well. And...I live in St. Louis, too! When I ordered the car the dealer told me third week of September. That would give it one to two weeks from the time it arrives on US soil to make its way to Mini of St. Louis. I'm dying while I wait. I was on a road today that had a few curves made for the Mini and I was trying to have fun with my Explorer. Not a good idea! Enjoy it when you get it. I know I will.
I am about an hour and a half south of St. Louis. I was told the third week too by Mr. Jones @ mini of St. Louis. Send me a note at kevin@underaminute.com. I would like to keep in contact with you since it looks like our cars will be in at the same time. Maybe we will cross paths sometime. We will see what happens, huh?

For the MCS six months is not that unusual.
We're having a blast with the car. Usually when we go out we grab a bite around town. With sitters running the clock, it just makes sense to stay local. Last night, for the first time in years (maybe 10?) my wife suggested we eat in Lancaster (about an hour away)!
So now the car is a day old, 230 miles, and no stumble or windshield cracks! Life is good.
p.s. I'm working on pictures (so I can change my sig), but it is really nothing special. A straight DS/bl with no stripes, flags, or other unusual options/mods.

Am I the only one that is getting a little nervous watching the track of Hurricane Fabian? It looks to me like the projected track puts it very close to where the Tokyo Highway will be as this coming weekend draws near. <gulp>

Anyone trackin gthe Tokyo Highway??? I haven't had a chance to look at it because of work?? Did it clear the hurricane zone?
I don't think the Tokyo Highway is trackable. I've never been able to get it to show up on any site that is supposed to show ships by their call sign. And I don't think it has cleared the huricane zone. In fact, it would appear to me to heading right for it...

Looks to me like if they don't stop and wait they'll be right in the middle of it.

Daniel, I have tried over and over and have never had any luck on tracking the Tokyo Highway. I looked up the booking number and it shows it left port on the 29th...but...if you look at the entire list of cars that is loaded on the ship there were some "removed" on 9/1. How could it have already set sail for NY on the 29th and have taken cars off on Monday 9/1. Interesting huh? Take a look...and see what you think.
By the way, I have sent to emails to your address and I was wondering if I had the right address. Let me know....

Perhaps we are unable to track the ship because it really hasn't sailed yet... If they have removed several cars on 9/1 as the website reports then maybe they are waiting until they know where the hurricane is headed. I saw that the website reports that the ship sailed on 8/29 but it also shows that my car was loaded on 8/30. So there is obviously something going on, either with how their website is run or with the actual dates in the schedule.
Hoping for clear weather and a brisk tail wind...

The MINI has landed! We picked it up this evening. The 60+ mile trip home was great, a combination of suburban, interstate and country roads (with no curves). We still had time to show the car to some friends and relatives and give the dog his first MINI ride. It was great and I am happy to report no problems. Thanks to our MA for making the delivery possible tonight.

Yes, Deli, kevruss and I saw that page. But, as kevruss pointed out, if you search by the Booking Number, you can see when each car was loaded to the ship. While one page says that the ship sailed on 8/29, another page on the W&W site shows my car as having been loaded on 8/30. Even more curious, it shows several cars having been REMOVED on 9/1. I guess they had forgotten to set the parking brake. At any rate, this is what is confusing me and why I am thinking it didn't set sail until 9/2 at the earliest.

That's ok. My car did not appear on the MINI dealer reports as being logged in at NYC until four days after the boat unloaded and left for SC. It is fun trying to track the movement but it is really not all that accurate.
