R50/53 Can't Wait for September Club--time to check in!!!
>>Wow--that's great. Your car must have been at the head of the line for the 8/8 production date. Mine was showing as being painted on Friday...with a week left to completion.
How do you know when it was being painted...? Is there something in the owner's lounge i'm missing?

Nightowl, if you live in the US you can call 866-askmini and talk to a rep. Give them your production number and they will tell you exactly where your car is.

>>2. Go to the Tracking Page and click 'Auto' and enter your VIN. If you are booked on a ship you will see the booking and also your ship name. Record the ship name.

Woo-Hoo!!!
My car is waiting at the terminal in Southampton, booked for the Jingu Maru with an August 15 departure.
When you go to the Cargo Tracking (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) website you must enter all the digits of your Vehicle Identification Number--not just the last 7 digits. This is a recent change in the process.

Swwwweeeet! My car's on a train heading to the coast, then onto the boat. We're getting there.
It's the JINGU MARU!
Voyage EQ323-JGM leaves Southampton on August 15, arrives in NYC on August 24 then Charleston, SC on August 26.
Check out these pics!

My MCS is loaded on the Tokyo Highway and enroute to NYC due to arrive on 8/12. So I went to the Accuweather.com site and inserted the ship's call sign (3EDF9) and hit decoded. However, I get a response telling me "Illegal item 3EDF9. Ignored". What am I doing wrong, or is this normal? :???: :???:
I posted this issue on another thread, here is a response from katiedidmini:
For some reason, a few months ago, the majority of ships stopped reporting their locations, at least to the public anyway. Since then, the ships have been very strange, appearing on radar some days but not usually. Some people think it might be an anti-terrorism thing. But it sucks for those of us wiating for our MINIS!
Thanks, Katiedidmini.

Ahoy Matey! We're shipmates....
Everyone's making fun of its size, but they all still want to ride in it.

>>Cool, my cars on the Jingu Maru as well.
>>
>>I wonder if theyre all getting along or if any fights have broken out?

>>I fully expect my jet black to be a trouble maker.
My understanding is that they serve black and tans all the way over. I think your jet black will be a bit too wasted to cause trouble.

An 8/22 production date may well put you in September. Your production is scheduled to be finished on 8/22. They have been running a few days early (for example, mine finished four days early). It usually takes about four weeks from that point, a bit longer if you are on the West Coast. Welcome to the club!
>>Woo hoo!!! Mine just went to "scheduled for production" and my baby has a name! Ok, so its only a VIN but hey, that's pretty close. The waiting only gets more difficult.
Just wait until it sits on the docks for a week or so!
The Jingu Maru departs today from Germany for England...picks up my baby on Thursday and heads across the pond...getting closer...
Who else out there is on the Jingu Maru? Who else is waiting for September?
This seems to be one of the quietest "Waiting For...." threads. There can't be that many people who put orders on ice until the 2004 model year...

Mine was scheduled to be done last friday the 8th. well it was finished on the 5th and at the dock. was put aboard the prestige ace yesterday and set sail for LA. darn it will take until the 5th to get just to the states. who knows how long it will take from port to Utah where I purchased it. a week? 2? I hope I can pick it up on the weekend of the 19th Sept. then I have to drive it back to CA and get it registered before OCT 1. CA auto tax tripples on OCT 1. looks like I will be barley scooting in just in time. then OCT 3 I leave for 2 weeks. my new car will have to sit in the garage with no one to take care of it. just my jeep to keep it company.
w00t!
Just got a call from the dealer - my car has been completed early and I can either get it next week or wait until September for the new registration period.
Still haven't sold the house, tho' - and I'm looking into finance.
Any recommendations from other UK based members?
Kirsty - who is now getting very excited

>>JMB1; welcome to the club!

>>If you are in the States call 866-askmini for an update. Their records are so much better than the owners lounge.
Thanks, Deli. They were very helpful and reported me at Status Code 152...in the paint shop and right on schedule for 8/15 completion.

  After eading the thread and seeing all the checkpoints to watch I think I'm going to be sick! I am already jumping out of my skin waiting for this thing!
Soon to be completed: IB/W Cooper, pkg #1 & #3, 16" alloys, spoiler and a surprise custom paint job when she arrives home. I've already named her Justa for obvious reasons. Hopefully it won't take forever to get to the Hamptons!
I am still trying to decide to transport her to CA or to go and drive her out here.
As I said before Ugh!
