R50/53 They screwed me!!!

I can't believe it. Prod Date 9/6/02 for the past 2 months. Everything was looking great...my MCS would start production in just a few days...But no! I nervously checked the OL about 10 times today b/c several others with 9/6/02 Prod Dates either have gotten their VIN or got moved back. Well, at my last check, 11pm, my Prod Date was backed up to 9/13/02.

Yeah, you prompted me to check... My prod date was just bumped up from 9/14 to 9/20. Ah well, it'll give the market a little more time to come back up before I finance.

I know it's hard, but it's best if you don't fret over how long you're waiting for your MINI... my best advice is a quote from a Velvet Underground song, Waiting For My Man...
Trust me... mine showed up at the dock about 3 weeks ago, and i'm still waiting...

Gotta chill... As you've hopefully read on other threads in this forum, ALL production dates are Fridays since the OL data/system is only updated on Friday. The production date posted has at best only a 1 in 7 (or six, depending on whether the factory runs 6 or 7 days a week) chance of being right anyway. So, MINI "backing" your date up a week only means that they now anticipate producing your car sometime in the 7 days following 9/6.
Hey, you may get 9/7! ... And then your car can go sit at the dock in South Hampton along with the cars produced on "9/6" and wait for a boat. Point is, it's not an exact science; and you're not actually tracking your car...you're tracking the data posted by MINI.

Thanks for your support everyone. I know it's not a big deal and many, many other people waiting for their MINIs had to endure much, much worse (so far, at least). I just wrote the initial thread immediately after I checked the OL. Oh well. I was just really excited about possibly catching an early Sept ship b/c I have a family gathering in Pennsylvania the 2nd week of October. As much as I talk about the MINI all day long to anyone who will listen, I have actually refrained from telling anyone on MY side of the family that I'm getting an MCS!!! So no one at this gathering knows I have a MCS on order and my brother and uncle love the car!!! So I'm keeping my mouth shut hoping to surprise them when I show up with my baby. For 2 months it looked like it would definitely happen. Now it's going to be real tough. If there are any other delays (which there are likely to be) I won't get it in time. Oh well, got to be patient...It'll all be worth it in the end.
Rocketboy_X - Gee, I guess sitting on the dock is a lot worse! I hope you get your soon!
