error code

Have an error code on my 2003 non-s MC. Came on after oxygen sensors were changed by a local mechanic. Code is P0130. Shop manual says is O2 sensor circuit ( bank 1 sensor 1). Comes on and off but mostly on. Plug in connection appears good and clean. Bought sensors from Minicarparts.com, appear identical to OEM sensors, plug connector etc, also identical to Bosch sensors. Thinking about just changing. Does anyone know is above code is pre or post catalyst sensor. Any other advice. Runs good gas milage normal. Thanks.

From: Washington. No, the other one.
1/1 should be pre-cat sensor

Hey I just installed both of those sensors new from minicarparts.net on my o3 mcs i think the brand is amp and I have the same code that comes and goes. I think we may be starting a pattern If you solve this let me know im getting ready to buy a bosch and replace the precat one to see if it helps. I will also let you know if i come up with a solution. But its looking to be an off brand issue at this point.

what is the code exactly? p0130 is a generic code and doesnt offer much info as to the problem exactly ( ie. warm up phase, too rich, too lean, heating circuit, could be alot of things. )

to follow up after talking with emagers it looks to be the off brand sensors causing the issue. He replaced both with the boch and havent heard of the code comming back from him. Ill be replacing mine soon and ill add my results to this post for the search engine on the board.

p.s - The p0130 is rather vauge it says "O2 sensor malfunction bank 1 sensor 1"

I just got my scangauge II and was able to read why my engine indicator was on. It was the P0130 (02 Sensor Malfunction). How would one go about finding out what needs to be fixed? I'm under warranty so I could make the 2HR trek up to a dealer.

Thanks.
