After receiving my 2004 production number, I was reminded by my dealer that it takes acouple of days for the factory to update the MINIUSA site. Well now it is in with a production date of 9-5-03, arriving in late October according to my dealer. I will try to use the descriptions abbrevations:

2004 MCS/INDI/WHITE/WHITE/WHITE/BLK LEATHERETTE/SPORT/HK/MFSW

I checked the Owner's Lounge order tracking status site and my production date still stands at 9/5/2003. If your date has been bumped or change I would give a call back to the selling dealer as these changes are being made solely by your motoring advisor.

>>I am supposed to get mine in October from Long Beach Mini. I have been on the wait list since last October, so I guess that the one year wait they quoted me was right. It's been pretty hard to sit on my hands and wait, but it's almost time.

I would not get the sport pkg, keep the 16" tires, skip the dsc. I rented a mcs for a day and when I went to return it without my wife I tried to have a little fun on a big sweeping highway on-ramp but the dsc applied the breaks in the middle of the corner, not necessary cuz i was not going that fast. Think about the Driving laps, they look awesome but extra weight, same with the aero kit, I like anthracite or the silver dash. But I have changed my mind on all of this many times.

I just got my production number and an estimated build date of September 12th, so hopefully an October delivery date.

04 cr/b mcs
all three packages
Harmon Kardon
Black Bonnett Stripes
Driving Lights
Space Cloth/Anthracite
aux input

The first three month wait was pretty easy the next three are going to be torture

Yes, I just got my production number. I have been drooling over the mcs for over two years, I can remember the first article I read about bmw's reintroduction and I was sold. So after countless hours on-line and building my own over and over and over, I have now taken a crutial step forward. First I wanted BRG, then PS/B, then PS/PS, then DS/W, then Black, then Pepper white......

2004 MCS
DS/B
Black B/S
Prem. pkg
ASC
16" v-spoke
fog
xenon
Cordoba Beige leather
black int.
anthracite dash
H/K

Can you dig it? My birthday is in October hope it gets here in time.

ps how come my production number is for a chili red cooper s?

Sweet car ryan!

For me, performance is a top aspect of MCS ownership. I skipped the 17" wheels, DSC, Sunroof and Automatic A/C.

My performance driving is exactly why I chose to get the DSC. Turning mine off in Mr.Motor was a big reason I crashed it. I very much like the security of the DSC, as it works very well in "on-the-edge" situations.

Cooper4us ---> LOL, and just for future reference, there's no need to copy my entire post, just say my name

Cheers,
Ryan

Now y'all be sure and listen up when Ryephile speaks. He was (and is) the "Virtual Motoring Advisor" for the greatest CWF*C ever built , the amazing April Club with 3K+ posts and 40K+ page views.

Wish you all well with your waiting and best of luck for a trouble free build and smooth sailing come October!

2-Choices but more waiting also. The dealer messed up my 03 order slated for aug 8 build (no leather). Sooo they re-ordered one with a mid sept build (with leather) which would be an 04. he said I can still take the 03 when it comes if I like it. But with a mid sept build I will probably be fortunate to see a late october arrival grrrrr. I am not sure I like the deletion of the big speedo either

OK, major correction 'fletch: the MINI will still have the big center speedo, however they are also adding a digial readout to the tach, where the temp readout currently is. I've also heard that an instant MPG will be selectable too. (have to wait and see on that one).

just clearing that up,
Cheers,
Ryan

I should be going this weekend to order an 04, which would probably be built in september and delivered sometime in october. If it isnt, then I'm in the wrong thread!

Ryan,

After all the threads I've read from you, I'm proud to be in the same 'Can't wait' club! Here's a little update on my order since you're keeping tract, I'll be visiting the dealer once more this weekend (the daily emails to my MA probably don't annoy her enough!) to finalize everything for the 9/12/03 build!!

TiMINITim: MCS, CR/W/W: anthracite, space/black, #2, cruise, MFSW, JCW

I'm still planning on the JCW, although the dealer is kind of dragging there feet on getting an MCS equipped for the test drive.

I also already started buying my MINI accesories. Today it was the GBO from GoMINIGo (really nice guy!). Can't wait to get a car to put it in!!!!

Tim

Welcome to CWFOC raj1975
Tell us more about your MINI (yes, everyone, follow along!). I'll lead by example.

I ordered my MCS from Motor City MINI in Eastpointe, MI on July 28th. Since I'm a repeat customer, they put me to the front of the list! I live in a northwest 'burb of Detroit, Waterford. This MY04 MCS is replacing my now-deceased Mr.Motor, who was a 2003 MCS, IB/W/W (rest in peace).

---> Tim, good to see you're keeping your MA busy! I can relate on buying the MINI-accessories before the car. I did it first time around, and I'm sure I'll have much more waiting this time, knowing what's good and not, hot and not.

Cheers,
Ryan

After a long consideration of 9 months, I finally ordered my S today.
It has been a long time for me to check on this website almost everyday and see so many people taking their MINI away from the dealership.
THE DAY HAS COME!!!! THE MINI NEEDS ME!!!!

DS/W
All 3 packages(don't wanna miss a thing!)
H/K (Keep it real!)
rain sensor/auto wiper (Lazy option!)
NAV system (dum people's choice!)
Leatherett (the best and cheapest alternative of leather)

It is going to be couple of days for the system to update my info. I have a production number already, but the option not quite right since the dealer changed it into the way i wanted. Can't wait for Sept to see my MINI on the line!!!!

Any one has opinions on the 04 pricing?????

Well, I got my order number, but not my production number from MINI USA. Long Beach MINI (my good friends since I got on the waiting list for a Cooper back in April) says I should get delivery some time in October -- still too early to say if it'll squeek in before the registration fees here in California triple.

I'm not sure if I have the nomenclature for configurations right, but here's my best shot:

MC: IB/W/W 5-speed 'ette, anthracite, stripes, rallies, 16" White 5-Stars, sport suspension + seats, sunroof, fogs, chrome

I got all the features ala carte since there were things on each package I didn't want.

And in response to Ryan's poll, this is replacing one of our two current family car's: the Grand Am my wife currently drives. The Camry then goes to the wife and kids, and I'll have the MINI for my daily 100mi round trip.
