Those guys take some really good shots. Once in a while they get a great one. Glad you liked it.
A couple of notes about that shot. I am flat out at this point; foot to the floor and accelerating from there to the braking zone at the bus stop (actually acceleration starts with the exit of T1). The car has the stock sports suspension springs. Standing still there is about 1-1/5" of wheel gap to the fender. You can see how that gap has closed up with the g loads.
Just came from a Chin Motorsports day at the the Glen--their Red (Advanced Solo) group allows passing anywhere on the track with a point. Really cool going up the Esses and through the Bus Stop side-by-side....really keeps you on your toes! The grip of the new pavement is amazing.
Ethan Low in car #37 was the fastest MINI and 3rd overall in practice 1 for Mosport. It was raining, which we know is good for the MINIs. Full practice results: http://miniracefan.com/2016/07/08/ca...-low-top-mini/
Good to see that the cars are all back together.....I stopped into the dealership here in Buffalo earlier this week for a couple oil filters and was shocked to see the LAP Motorsports trailer parked outside....went in the shop and there were all the cars being torn apart and serviced. One of the dealer techs (who crewed with the team at the Glen) said one of the motors had an overheating issue....

Cool insight! That must have been the #37. They had a radiator issue at Watkins Glen. Thankfully your dealership was on the way to Mosport.

Wow, 1:42.xxx in the rain...my PB lap there in my stock Justa on streets is 1:46.41 and I was in the 1:47s there last week, but that was all in the dry so that's motoring!

Yeah, the 37 was on a lift with the engine out and the entire front end off.....I took a good look The cars do use the full undertray when they run--I thought they would have taken it off. Front suspension looked pretty trick--KWs with adj levers for compression and rebound. They also had a stock JCW w/tuning kit there that they were using for lapping.
Wow, good for them--that's smokin'. That's about what a Corvette or 911 would run there in the lapping days I go to--my friend in his Viper does 1:30s so that's really good. Now if the cars could just not break.....

That's cool that you got to get a good look at them. I know a lot of people on this forum are interested in what the team runs.
Qualifying is over and Two MINIs will start in the top 10! This is a good followup to last weeks great qualifying effort. It seems like they are getting more competitive every week.
How can we watch the race? Don't tell me, wait for the rerun!
It will be streamed live on IMSA.tv or on the IMSA app at 12:25 pm EST tomorrow (July 9th). If you can't watch it live then you will have to wait for the FS1 broadcast July 17th at noon EST.

And a respectable finish. Between the brakes and the slight power boost they seem to be competitive now. It will be fun to see them at Lime Rock at the end of the month.
Thanks for the link. I guess I had forgotten that they broadcast the races. We had a lot of fun watching

NP. It was definitely an exciting race. Lots of coverage of the MINIs this time, which is what happens when you are running at the front
Yeah FS1 sucks. I figured they would show the series with the Mini. But I was just wasting my time. Can't stream it because whee I live the only "high speed" internet I can get is satellite.
